I’m having a drink when they finally whack Pastor Tim and his wife whose name escapes me. Amy? Alice? I think it’s Alice.

She’s not at all memorable. All the more reason to kill her off. He’s more developed as a character, but that's to his detriment.

It might cause the Darwin’s grief muscle on Paige’s face to finally seize up and leave her eyebrows permanently raised in the middle, but that’s a chance I’m willing to take. She usually looks like that anyway.

He’s so smug and Alice is the definition of a one note harpy character. That scene where she's screaming at Philip and Elizabeth, gripping her pregnant belly, made me want to smack her. Blame your dumb husband for running off to be a white savior in Africa!

This is great news, and not just for the audience - Keri Russell is having Matthew Rhys’s baby, now they won’t have to worry about providing for it for several years.

If you’re not watching this show, you are missing out. Although a warning: The Americans is so well done, it may hurt other shows you watch. For example, when the Russians talk to one another in the Russian Embassy, they speak Russian (with subtitles)! Compare that to many other shows where a person speaking English with an accent is supposed to convey a foreign language and you may finding yourself yelling at the tv “why can’t you just speak the language like in The Americans?” Ironically, the first time I yelled that I was watching Tyrant, the show that takes over The Americans’ time slot on FX. The dip in quality really makes me appreciate how well made The Americans is.

Yes, I like how they handle language. It is frustrating to watch a show or movie where people are supposed to be speaking other languages but are speaking English for no reason. Or worse, when American actors do an attempt at an British accent for characters who are supposed to be French or German.

And their Russian Embassy cast is almost all native Russian speakers, which makes sense given how much they speak it but it also makes such a huge difference.

Wonderful news! This is one of my all time favorite television shows. I hope we will get some insight or a first hand look at (Poor) Martha’s new life. I am also really interested in seeing how they handle Henry as he gets older.

I was so worried there would only be one more season, two seems perfect.

Good gravy, Martha. My boyfriend and I were like “This whole operation seems like a very bad idea” early on, and what do you know! I guess they got some good intel for a bit but like... that whole thing lasted way longer than it should have; also, I loved how Martha’s dad was like “There’s no way she would’ve been that susceptible to manipulation!” Newsflash dad, she was so sad and lonely that she overlooked MAJOR RED FLAGS to be with Clark.

You are either conflating BoJack Horseman with Ugly Americans with The Americans, or you are making some sort of joke that I don’t understand.

I should get into this show, I was initially put off because I have beef with Felicity but I need something to fill the Mad Men-shaped hole in my heart

I streamed it a couple weeks ago. It starts out fairly slow and is a bit complicated but it’s totally worth it.

This show fucking rules. Last month I binged all of seasons 1-3 on Prime (and elsewhere, ahem) and am now caught up.

I recommend Slate’s podcast, too. I just found it a few weeks ago, but it’s great (I just picked up where they were). The episode with the show runners and the actress that played Martha (ep. 7, I think) was good, but especially the ep. 9 show because Matthew Rhys was the guest...in all his Welsh accented glory. Swoon.

I've been watching it since the show premiered in 2013, but never thought about looking for a podcast.

I really think this is one of those shows that is sort of a ‘sleeper’ when it first airs, then gets very popular when people start watching it on Netflix. I’ve been watching since episode one, but I think it would be a great binge-watch show.
