Notice anything about this @HuffingtonPost editors meeting?

    .

...that people have lost the ability to have meetings without bringing food anymore...?

Even more so when you consider that, the last I checked, Huffington Post tended to favor a more conservative political outlook. It’s one of the papers behind the increasing doubt that one in five women are sexually assaulted on campuses, that anything greater than one in twenty will ever be assaulted, and similar views. It’s also one of the publishers of a study that showed the general public doesn’t like feminism despite liking the idea of equality between men and women.

So, yeah. That probably puts who those women are in perspective. Just because it has women doesn’t mean it supports gender equality.

In order to reflect U.S. demographics, for 14 editors:

    9 should be white

    2 should be Hispanic

    2 should be black

    1 should be Asian

But once you throw gender in there, which for men and women is essentially 50/50, I'm not sure how that affects demographical representation.

    I count two Asians!

Is the SAT racist? Because even poor whites and Asians do better than upper middle class blacks at the median. Perhaps phenotypic differences wouldn’t be so politically unpalatable if they didn’t translate into disparate income and political power. We wouldn’t have to run around trying to argue that institutional racism accounts for disparate outcomes in the capitalist meritocracy if we accepted that differences exist, but that the way we value and compensate different types of talent and labor is totally corrupt and somewhat arbitrary. I.e. there is no way a banker’s labor is worth 50x a teachers in our society. Yet feminism these days fights for access for women to corrupt banking jobs rather than fights for increase pay for what has traditionally been considered“women’s work.” Just lean in harder!

Are Asian and Latino women now considered white?

I thought you were going to note that it should have been “editors’ meeting”. You know, because they’re editors who didn’t edit?

Agree it is in need of some WOC, but at least poke fun at the editing too!

Latinas can also be white. And the presence of Asians doesn't mean there's no diversity problem.

Isn’t either usage okay? I can see how it could be understood to imply a meeting “owned” by the editors (which would call for a possessive apostrophe), but my overall understanding was that it was meant to describe the type of meeting (a meeting for editors), in which case I don’t think an apostrophe would be required.

Was once at a pre-construction meeting. All of us laughed when we realized every single one of us was a woman and that had never before happened to any of us.

A guy/suit walked in and apologized for being in the wrong room....he was representing the realtor.

I look forward to an entire sanitation crew, cleaning sewage, to be entirely female. I look forward to an entire platoon of women being killed in combat.

Then we will have full equality.
