Does he really think the people having emergencies in the emergency room give even half a shit about some random white guy who looks like every other white guy on this planet?

You’re a DJ, Calvin, not Beyonce. Let’s dial down the diva behavior.

I - shamefully, but whatevs - read celebrity gossip daily. I would not be able to pick him out in a crowd. Someone’s suffering a little bit from delusions of grandeur.

Yeah, his self-importance is astounding. His ego is huge and terribly fragile if he can’t bear not to be given ‘special’ treatment when he needs medical attention fairly quickly.

I know it’s not Saturday night open thread yet, but I really need some advice/recommendations of a stupidly superficial sort:

    BOYFRIEND JEANS

I tried the ones at Banana Republic, and the pockets were so far down my legs, they were practically on my knees. I love the idea of a slim but not skinny jean, with a bit of wear to them (like this below) but can’t find a pair that actually fits like that without making my ass look like a pancake.

In exchange for the advice, I recommend this lash primer as an amazing and lovely thing to wear during the day on Saturday:

The ass looking like a pancake is a struggle. Whenever I go for boyfriend jeans I try to get ones that are somewhat high waisted, and hopefully more fitted at the waist because it creates a slight hourglass figure. Kinda like these from TopShop.

Those look promising. And now that I am getting to be near a certain age, it probably wouldn’t hurt me to try a higher waistline. Thank you!

If I ever watched myself have sex, I’d probably never want to have sex again. You gotta give it to porn stars, they make it look so great.

Shouldn’t Tyga be concerned about the sex tape, since it probably proves that he committed statutory rape?

Is statutory rape one of those crimes where the parent has to choose to prosecute? I’ve always thought it was for some reason, could be wrong though.

Also I guess they would need to prove that she isn’t 18 in the tape, and I’m not sure how they would do that unless they can date her by how big her lips are.

No. Statutory rape, at least in any state I’ve ever lived in, in prosecuted by the State. But, depending on the state they are in, they might need her cooperation to prosecute...

I wouldn’t recognize Calvin if I tripped over him, split my head open and needed stitches, but he may have been disoriented and was obviously suffering from head trauma. So maybe he just got overwhelmed. I’m a nobody but if I can wrangle a single space in a crowded ER, well...

I wouldn’t strongly disagree with it being an ego thing, but it’s possible it’s not completely an ego thing?

Yeah, I have to agree. None of us commenting here are the subject of paparazzi harassment. He might not have been worried about another ER patient so much as a tabloid photographer who could waltz right into his room and get $10k for a photo of Taylor Swift’s ex with a bloody gash across his face.

I never want to be famous. Rich, sure, sign me up. But famous sounds frankly awful.

If Tamera Mowry wants to wish her husband a happy anniversary, she should probably find him and do so in person, or in a phone call, or even a text message.

I never really understand this perspective. Whether it’s folks I care about or famous people, seeing others expressing love and gratitude for each other is one of those little pluses in this chaotic world. Good examples of those times when relationships between humans are working out are hard to come by.

And, really, it’s highly likely that she did do something more personal, since most folks willing to be public about caring about each other also tend to make private, meaningful gestures as well.

So...why do you think they should keep these things to themselves? I’m genuinely curious.

We’re told [Calvin Harris] wanted a private room, and when they said one wasn’t available he hopped off the gurney and left ...”against medical advice.”

Taylor already wrote a song with lyrics about going to the hospital after a car accident, but it was about Harry Styles. So yeah, of course Calvin had to get out of there.

I would not necessarily know if demanding a private room is a celeb thing. People I know who work in the ER say one of the most stressful parts of the job is that so many people believe they deserve special treatment. My aunt just retired from being the head doctor of an ER because she was done with people snapping their fingers and her face and demand to know when she was going to wait on them.

I’ve seen it for myself, the last time I was in the ER, so many people were there demanding a private room. A woman was screaming because the little girl (me, age 25) got a private room and she (middle aged woman) did not. It was totally not fair according to her because she was older and deserved a private room over the little girl.

The only reason I had a private room was because I was having complications with my IUD and the doctors needed to observe my vaginal area, she was demanding pain medication and not matter what they offered her, she was allergic to everything except for dilaudid. When I have gone for severe asthma attacks, I’ve been in the hallway like everyone else taking nebulizer treatments, attached to an IV and receiving intravenous prednisolone.

I can see why he would want a private room, he has been labeled as Mr. Taylor Swift by the tabloids for a while now, but I can see why it was just not possible. He had every right to leave, but they definitely advised him not to avoid any liability.

Not that I would randomly show up to an ER demanding it.

My favorite part of the picture of Kristen Stewart and her girlfriend walking the red carpet at Cannes is that her girlfriend is holding a clear bag that obviously contains Kristen Stewart’s “comfy shoes” for after the carpet (Stewart’s wearing them in the pictures that were taken of the two of them at the airport). Adorable.

It’s funny, but... I do not think it’s a good idea to date people who work for you, especially in such a personal capacity. Talk about blurred lines. What’s a favor from your girlfriend, and what’s the job? This could have been either or both... and, from another perspective, is she sleeping with her boss because she wants to keep the relatively high-profile job, or because she really wants to?

It’s just a really unhealthy dynamic in pretty much every way IMO. I don’t think two people should let it stop them from getting together if that’s how they happen to get to know one another, but it would be wise to sever the professional relationship once a romance arises.
