    Mayflies used to freak me out so much, until I found out they don’t even have mouths. They eat everything they’ll ever eat as larvae, then starve to death as adults.

    Some species get really big and this ugly red/brown colour that looks like scabs, so it’s still irritating, though.

      Whhhhat?! MAYFLYS ARE SO COOL. They were alive when Dinosaurs were! And as adults they don’t have mouths! That is so weird and amazing.

    B.J. Novak Idea for an independent bookstore: offer free Wifi, and if the user goes to Amazon, an alarm goes off.

    Just the threat of an alarm is good enough. Kind of like when my parents said if I peed in the pool the water would turn red all around me.

    I was pretty sure it wasn’t true but I would never, just in case...

      I wish I could fully express this in words but imagine a 90 pound Rottie/Black Lab just peacefully eating her food when she looks up and a spider has glided down from the ceiling and is directly in front of her face. Now imagine that same behemoth of a dog trying to scoot herself backwards while still trying to keep an eye on the spider AND trying to get just one more bite before we all die from this attack.

      Oh, and then imagine this dog bumping the couch behind her with her tail and freaking out thinking that maybe the spider had friends and coming forward, seeing the spider again and then spinning around fast enough to make herself fall. This poor dog.
