    Age of consent is 16, so she’s not breaking that law.. but there’s another law that specifies teachers having sex with students? Seem weird (teachers should not have sex with students, no matter).

      This is where the whole idea of “community standards” comes into play. We (those who made the foolish decision to procreate) expect our children to be safe and sound at school, not to be climbed into by a teacher thrice their age. This lady better get the book thrown at her.

      Right? I taught freshman English for several years, starting when I was about 27-28. And, ok, I found a few of the 18-19 year old boys attractive, but even the thought of acting on it was squicky. They’re practically still children in so many ways. And you’re the teacher! It’s just inherently wrong. I don’t get it.

      I know a 22-year-old highschool teacher who wrote a love poem to a student, and gave it to another teacher to read first!! Maybe it was a cry for help cause the other teacher was like “girl NO you can NOT give that to the student or start a romantic or sexual relationship with them!!!!”

      Probably a delusional reading of the “power” women are supposed to have; that of alluring and enchanting a man with our awesome pussy power. Men hear the stories of our culture and want to rescue or overcome a woman, women read them and want to be so amazing and enthralling that a man “loses” his strength and manliness in her embrace.       Furthermore, are you so lame that you couldn’t possibly talk someone into bed if they weren’t your subordinate with the inherent power dynamic? There is nothing legit or healthy about sleeping with a direct subordinate at work, and certainly not a student.

    im glad stuff like this is getting reported and that people like this are being held accountable. Teachers have a responsibility of care, and taking advantage of students’ admiration and trust is troubling. I think it also happens way more than is reported. In high school my best friend started dating and sleeping with her (much older, at least in his 50s) gym teacher. She was 18 at the time but it was troubling. She begged me not to report it, but looking back I wish I had, because who knows how many girls he did this to? This was over 20 years ago and he is long retired, but it is a regret I have.
