Wow. So now he gets what it’s like for someone to trap you and force you to undergo an experience you don’t want to go through?* Huh?

    A changed fucker indeed.

*I just mean his imprisonment, as much as I hate this rapist fuck I would never wish rape on anyone.

Sounds like the prosecutor supports your thesis.

Her quote was a sweet, sweet balm:

Prosecutor Catherine Ruffle seems unswayed by Labrie’s recognition of his “privilege.” She told the court that only thing that’s changed since Labrie’s bail was revoked is that “the defendant doesn’t like it in jail.”

    FUCK this day. Seriously.

How much money did someone (his family) donate to that judge on his behalf?

WHO THE FUCK GETS OUT OF JAIL BECAUSE THEY’RE ‘BORED’?! GAH!

Let one brown/black/underprivileged/minority person say they want to get out of jail because they’re bored and they ‘accept’ their privilege (how little they likely have). They’d never see a fucking judge, they’d just get laughed at by the guards (at the least).

This kid hasn’t learned jackshit...other than politics, money, optics, and appearing to be contrite will get him anything he wants in life.

What made this guy in special danger in jail? I’m guessing nothing, but it’s ‘unfair’ that a rich kid should have to go through the same potential abuse that other prisoners are subject to??? I’m not saying, “yay, jail abuse!” I’m saying something should be done to minimize it for everyone, not just scared, white, rich guys.

I was going to reply that can’t be true as there are so many rapes/rapists, but then I remembered that only 3% ever see a day of jail/prison, so you may indeed be right. God forbid their bodily autonomy get violated like the ‘regular’ prisoners who stole something or got caught with drugs.

At least in the picture I saw he currently looks much more like he did at crime time than he did at trial time.

It really is nice to have a legal system ready to bend over backwards to accommodate your discomfort.

Rich kids always have it easy when the commit crimes.

Remember the Affluenza kid? Stole beer from Walmart and killed 4 people in drunk driving crash. His whole defense was that he was that he didn’t know right from wrong, because his parents taught him money buys privileged. What happened? He was sentenced to “adult day camp at some luxury California clinic in which activities included: baseball, horse back riding, swimming and massage!!!

He killed 4 people while drinking and driving underage and got nothing for it.

This kid is basically getting the same treatment. Young, rich, white kids getting the royal treatment from the justice system.

      Business as usual...

C’mon! You don’t know what its like. He missed the premier of the new Captain America movie and everything! Now, he’ll probably only be able to see it on, like, the second or third screen at his local Cineplex.

      Surely, he’s suffered enough.

“He’s gone through a wave of emotion, from being sad about his situation, being scared, being nervous, being bored at times.”

Interesting, he didn’t go through a wave of remorse?!

He’s still appealing his conviction, so he could never admit to that.

But also he’d have to think he did something wrong to feel remorse, and just a hunch, probably not happening.

    being bored at times .

Shut. Up. He was bored?! OMG, you guys. That poor suffering soul. How will he ever recover from the trauma. Will he write his memoir about that one time in his 20's when he was bored for two whole entire months?

    But seriously, Owen:

Oh my God, you guys, prison was like so hard.

Did you know you can’t leave your cell whenever you want? Like, God, where am I going to go?

And, the food — so bad. I asked one of the servers at the counter if I could get a lean protein substitution for my dinner and he said something in a language I didn’t understand and made a gesture with his hand that I also didn’t quite get but didn’t seem particularly polite.

Which brings me to the the inmates. Not a cool bunch, I must say. Very rough looking sorts. And, again with the gestures. Who knew inmates were so proficient in ASL?
