    I think it’s overreach to say that HuffPo depends heavily on leakers for its material. The site relies upon leaked material certainly, but only inasmuch as leaked material is present in the work of other news sites, which then are vampirized by the aggregator.

      Huffington Post depends on free bloggers to write their opinions about news stories written by other publications.

      In short, Huffington Post is nothing more than a publisher of press releases from PR companies. This latest “crackdown” is just a formalization of those policies to the naive people who hadn’t figured that out yet.

    Arianna’s history of hating leakers and whistleblowers and, actually, reporters, goes back decades.

    • According to Vanity Fair reporter Maureen Orth, Arianna hired a private investigator to hound her and possibly smear her over her critical coverage. Arianna’s ex-husband, Rep. Michael Huffington, told reporter David Brock that Arianna “often hired private investigators to collect dirt on her foes.” Brock claimed Arianna passed him a “file” on one of her political rivals, Joe Gaylord, smearing him as a racist and homosexual.
