I used to think Sen. Warren ought to stay in the Senate, that she should stay where she’s needed most. But the opportunity of having Hillary choose a running mate that is one, remarkably competent and sensible, and two, clearly gets under his skin like few others, is a very appealing proposition.

There were rumors going around in my SO’s family that there was a Cherokee princess somewhere in the bloodline. (Why, oh WHY is it always a Cherokee princess? Did Cherokees even HAVE princesses? But I digress) My SO got his DNA tested, and voila! Not a drop or molecule of native American to be found. He was sad. But that story had been circulated in his family for years and years.

And yet people are triumphantly pointing at Elizabeth Warren as a bad person because she believed her family’s stories. Get over it, bakas.

PS - I just had my DNA tested, and it was interesting. I’m not stumping for one of those DNA-testing companies, honest, but I found it pretty damned fascinating. I’d love to know just *how* I got the makeup I have, but I probably never will.

She’s a fraud. She’s doesn’t look remotely native, yet she decided to use her bullshit story to obtain a scholarship for underprivileged natives. Not very good optics in this day age.

I care that she used her bullshit family story for personal gain, probably at the expense of an actual American Indian.

In an interview with The New York Times’ Maureen Dowd,

If you want to take a look, see if you can use some,’” licensed funeral director Jason Chiaramonte told The New York Times for a stunning look at mass burials

After The New York Times published a spectacular deep dive on Satuday about his long history of sexism and misogyny in his dealings with women, Trump took to Twitter to express his outrage Sunday.

According to the New York Times, Hamilton’s “producers have long sought to limit reselling by capping the number of tickets that could be purchased per person.”

According to The Washington Post, ex-presidential hopeful Mitt Romney has been courting the two as a candidate through whom he might live.

Squid, my point is not about Donald Trump, although, what you suggest would be an excellent start at improving content. I think there is some journalistic and entertainment blogging talent here at GM that is wasting on the vine.

Elle Schechet, and Joanna Rothskopf did some field reporting; it was about half real reporting, half Daily Show-esque satire. But it was informative and entertaining.

I read the NY Times already.

Occasionally on Gawker Media, you will see fine pieces of either first rate journalistic work, or fleshed out point of view pieces with an original voice.

Maybe just one piece a shift like this?

Drew Magary, Hamilton Nolan, Diana Moscovitz, and esp. Anna Merlan come to mind across various platforms. Alissa King did a great little impromptu mini-doc on the new train line here in LA.

I would like to see more of that. I understand that GM is primarily a click bait content aggregator, and hybrid social media interaction website.

But sometimes it just comes off as super lazy to copy and paste, and toss a pic on there, and then we get to come in and hot take each other to death.

side note, what would Gawker be writing about if Trump dropped out 7 months ago?

every other article on this site is Trump, i’ve had stalkers less obsessed with me than you people are with Trump. if y’all spent as much time talking about how great bernie is as you did shitting on Trump. Bernie would have the nomination by now and we would finally have a utopia come november

I should think Pocahantas is the ultimate heroine to WASP assimilation and aristocracists. Why would Trump’s people laugh at her name?

Just kidding. They have no idea who she really was.

Even to those that know who the real Pocahontas was, it’s insulting only if you’re an actual Native American. And no candidate cares if they offend the Native American community.

Can it be considered an “absolute destruction” if he doesn’t give a fuck, and it doesn’t change anyone’s perception of him?

I LOVE Senator Warren and I have the utmost respect for her. I’m glad she spoke her mind. But Trump supporters do not care what she has to say. Anyone that does already hates him.

Why do liberals act like it’s chill for Warren to steal a Native America scholarship AND tenured positions at U-T, Penn, and Harvard?

On a related note, I never understood how Ted Kennedy was re-elected to his senate seat over and over after killing his gf?

Because she never did any of those things? The college she worked for put it in one brochure, without her knowledge, after she had been on staff for some time. That’s it. That’s the entire thing. She didn’t accept any scholarships or jobs by falsifying her race. That never happened.

TBH, Sen. Warren doesn’t quite bring it. Her attacks on Trump are lame (way too cerebral and polite). 2016 has shown that only brute strength wins. She’s gonna have to take her game up a notch - above the rim!

      Btw, I love Warren.
