Did he seriously never tweet storm about the WaPo phone call Friday? I’ve been waiting for updates.

Forget women. His supporters don’t give a shit about women. Pound away at the John Miller/Barron thing. There is no way to spin that in which he isn’t revealed as pathetic and insecure.

The reporter that “John Miller” was speaking to believes that Donald Trump may have leaked those tapes himself. He is 100% lunatic.

If the Dems want to brand him with a damaging nickname, go with Weak Donald, and play off his insecurities. That would be a turn off to his base who love his “bravado.”

Dangerous Donald is stupid because the only people it plays to those who already don’t like him.

The NYT article stated that his conduct with women was contradictory and uneven, including unwanted advances and blatant misogyny while also showing that he promoted women within his organization and against the sexist views of his father. They also clearly spoke with the women who had had positive experiences with the psychotic Oompa-Loompa.

Which is why it works, one of the biggest fears among Republicans is that they can’t trust Trump on anything, it confirms the fear that Trump is not only inconsistent but inconsistent in a creepy, spineless and insecure way.

They also pointed out that a lot of the women stayed on his good side and kept asking for help even though they didn’t like him and felt uncomfortable with his advances. They still needed him as a professional contact, whether they liked him or not.

There’s a very good chance many of the names he mentioned as positive references actually talked dirt on him anonymously, because they don’t like him nearly as much as he thinks (or at all).

Poor Donald. He’s already having Mussolini-style disagreements with the press—how long do we think it’ll be before he’s denouncing media outlets for not spelling TRUMP in all caps?

Trump’s not senile - he knows exactly what’s going on. And exactly what he’s doing.

It’ll be terrible for the country and the world, but it’ll be great for him.

This is death by 1000 cuts for Trump and not at all what I thought would sink him. His entire message is he has an aspirational life, that he knows what he is doing, that he is smarter than everyone else, that he can say what he really thinks about Mexicans without fear of being fired or socially isolated, that the Trump lifestyle is flying around in his big jet banging hot women and doing deals. Turns out the real Trump lifestyle is being obsessed about what people say about your baby sized fingers.

Trumps message shatters when it shown that behind all of the cocksure bravado it turns out he is a deeply insecure weirdo for apparently no reason.

Insecure or not, instead of him doing the apologizing, it’s Vicente Fox who apologized to him and invited him to Mexico.

So far, only Israel, Turkey and the Saudi states have managed to be offensive and yet secure apologies from the people they offended.

The thing about a narcissist is they will retaliate against anything negative said about them endlessly and will not stop until they are proven right (or the other party gives in and takes it back). If we spend the next 6 months with one or two outrageous Trump stories being brought up weekly, he’ll then spend all his energy on refuting them, & hopefully he’ll exhaust even his strongest supporters patience with his lunacy. Hopefully.

The times pieces a really good piece of journalism. I suggest everyone read it, as it gives a great insight into how misogynistic the man really is. Not like we didn’t know this already, but there are so many different women that have come forward, it’s Bill Cosby at the “presidential“ level.

There was nothing remarkable about the New York Times article. Barely any bad behavior there. From the way you people talk, you’d think Trump was a sexual terrorist like Clinton or Weiner or John Edwards or some creep Republican from the South. Just sad!

After almost becoming despondent because of the fact that nothing seems to stick with him with the Republican base about how he is both an awful person and an awful businessman I find myself both unsurprised and surprised that the line of attack that seems to be actually working is that the guy is a creepy weirdo.

I mean it makes sense, he is deeply insecure and it cuts right at the heart of his message that he knows what he is doing, that he is above the fray, that he has an aspirational life, but at the same time but of all the faults I thought people would have a problem with I didn’t think being kind of strange was one of them.

I guess sometimes it’s the little things, like there is this guy that hangs around my social circle, nice enough guy, I don’t have anything bad to say about him except for the fact that the dude does not know how to stand, he always takes a vaguely threatening or otherwise awkward posture and that’s all I can think of him now, dude, how do you not know how to stand like a normal person?

I think it’s really two things though: the primaries are mostly closed affairs, and they end up becoming these referenda on a candidate’s perceived obedience to the local shibboleths of state party apparatuses.

So Republicans voted for Trump as a measure of how devoted they are to the core right-wing causes of the locality (e.g., resisting integration in the South; bashing foreign busines in the Midwest; hating immigrants in the Southwest). To vote Rubio or Bush was to repudiate certain core values, and the Republican base doesn’t want to do that. As long as Trump didn’t speak out of turn, nobody really cared. His big slip-up was flip-flopping on abortion, where his perceived crime was not being anti-abortion enough for the base, which probably cost him votes in Catholic conservative towns in the Midwest.

Second, and maybe totally contradictory and counter-intuitive: the press tends to become more personality-focused the later in the electoral process gets. Once candidates are burnt off, you don’t talk issues, you start talking “character” and so on. It wasn’t until Kerry became the definitive Democratic nominee, for example, that the Republicans unleashed the Swift Boat attacks, or that Bush’s war record came into question.
