Ashley, I don’t see this as an effective gauge to determine who will be the next President, it’s fraught with with potential inaccuracies.

Because the current system has worked out so well in the past?

Drying paint is just as stupid as everything else we’ve tried so far.

Silver and FiveThirtyEight are not in the business of fortune-telling. They look at polls, weight them by accuracy and recency, and then explain what the polls are saying. Back in November, the polls were saying Trump didn’t have a chance and that, historically, candidates who could not climb above the 40% mark in primary wins had trouble gaining the nomination. That’s what the reality was then. Since then, Trump’s performance changed (he went above the 40% watermark) and his opposition completely blew it, mostly by waiting too long to make their move.

Likewise, Michigan going to Sanders wasn’t a crystal ball fortune by Silver and company, it was reporting what the polls were saying. Since that missed call, their algorythms have likely changed. And Indiana to Sanders? That was the first look into how Trump voter cross-overs will affect the late Democratic primaries (open ones, at least). West Virginia confirmed that effect, where exit polls showed upwards of a third of all Sanders votes came from Trump supporters. At least we know now that the supposed “late breaking mandate” for Bernie is nothing more than Trump trolling Clinton.

Right? This is why it becomes more difficult as he stays in. Trump’s supporters are voting for Sanders in an attempt to get a candidate they believe they can beat, and Sanders is evidently encouraging it. It’s pretty awful, really.

Nothing that’s happened so far during the primaries has made me this angry. I have Sanders followers as FB friends, and one openly acknowledges that this is happening and says she doesn’t care where the votes come from, as long as Sanders gets them. She (and his other supporters) are being played the fool by Trump, and either they refuse to see it or are just fine with it.

Of course, Gawker/Jez-TheSlot will never pick up on this story either.

Blessed are the peace makers Ashley. Once again you’ve gone “outside the box” to bridge the gap between those of us who live in a fact-based reality, and the Internet’s political dilettantes who are convinced the “elites” are conspiring to use “statistics” and fancy cipherin’ to rig the process.

so being upset about racism, misogyny or rape is just the same as annoying whiteboys like you whining about Sanders not being president?

This is exactly what Andy Warhol would do if the fucking internet was around when he was trolling. But with more nudity.

Can we get the staff to walk around nude in the background?

Maybe drop a pencil or two?

I think the GOP is definitely going to look into drying paint to choose their next nominee, because their current process has been a disaster.
