Weak, insecure men will be the death of us all.

Something about his face made me look harder and I realized he reminded me of George Zimmerman.

    Can’t unsee it.

I saw that too. I think it’s the bald head and beady eyes.

And here in the good ol’ U.S. of A. we’ve got plenty of guns to give them to gusto to act out their ultimate insecurities!

Based on our prior conversation, I wondered about that. All roads lead to Wawa :(

I think about this all the time. All the damn time.

This story is so terribly sad, those poor, poor children. And maybe most sad in the fact that it is unfortunately not close to a unique story. But I guess I just wanted to say that I’m incredibly impressed by this strong woman in recording her murder. The presence of mind and strength - I hope that I would have that kind of wherewithal if ever faced with something so terrible. And providing evidence like this, hopefully ensuring a conviction, will do at least something for her kids. To see the monster behind bars. And to know that their very strong mother helped put him there as one of her last acts.

Can’t stand to see her leave, yet can’t bear to see her live either. I will never understand this line of sick, sick dudethink.

    Those poor kids.

It’s the “if I can’t have you no one will” mentality and it’s terrifying beyond words.

Women are property and better dead than out of male control.

Funny how in the murder/suicide scenario, the suicide part seems to be the afterthought.

Pro tip for future abusive assholes: The next time you are considering killing your partner, child, or other loved one, try the suicide part first. Then you won’t have to worry about killing anyone — or, really, worry about anything — ever again.

Here is a “fun” fact: there is a jewelry store where I live that advertises around hunting season that if you buy an engagement ring you get a free hunting rifle. Very few people seem to understand how FUCKED UP and HORRIFYING that is.

The day a woman leaves an abusive relationship is the most dangerous day of her life—more so than childbirth.

Something to remember when you’re tempted to ask “but why doesn’t she leave?”

The people I know who have been able to successfully (i.e. not get hurt or murdered in the process or afterwards) leave a relationship have had to plan for ages and enlist help and ask for money - all of which makes you feel vulnerable and out of control already, while just trying to survive. It’s soul-crushing at best and straight-up dangerous at worst.

Yes, absolutely. I used to be a victim support worker and very much encourage anyone thinking about leaving to connect with a domestic violence shelter/organization to get help in planning to leave safely.

(I also encourage anyone in an abusive relationship to connect with a domestic violence organization—you have options and you deserve to be safe and okay.)

I am nearly sick with rage. Especially with the POS in the thread that keeps asking what she did to deserve it. WTF is wrong with people? Makes me want to jump off a bridge sometimes.

For what its worth, remember that its the clickworthy stuff that gets posted. Some jackhole kills a woman, well that is gonna get clicks. violence against women is way way WAY too prevalent EVERYWHERE (any exceptions?), but dont let that eff up your life - I make myself feel better by donating to (shameless plug) Plan International (/shameless plug) and upping the monthly amount every time I get a pay raise. Its about all I can do, but its better than rage and despair, and if you follow some of the stuff they do, esp. Tracking down child molesters (usually of little girls), it is somewhat encouraging - except you find out exactly how prevalent that stuff is via hard numbers instead of blog post prevalence.

So donate what you can, dont read the news, and hold your family close. Hope it helps.
