      Also— Go to your closest emergency room. Not everyone knows that you can go there for mental health crises, but you can. And there are people who will help— people who you can talk to, people who care about you and your safety, and want to do everything they can to get you the help you need.

      Frankly, this could have been a lot worse. First thing this brought to mind for me was that ’70s case of the news anchor who committed suicide on the morning news. And no, they didn’t cut away in time.

    That poor woman, I hope she is at peace now. There was a murder/suicide in the past few days of a military wive, she killed her children then herself while her husband is/was on deployment.

    If you need help, there is help available, if you are depressed and suicidal please call - 1-800-273-8255 they’ll listen and provide support, the number is for the US, I’ll look and find more numbers for other countries.

      Anyone can link to a study that shows talking to a suicide hotline prevents % of suicides? I’m not finding good data. ETA: I guess this shows something, but it seems unimpressive:

        But somebody would have to find that too! A neighbor or family member, etc. And somebody has to clean that shit up. That’s so horrible. I always think why don’t they go down to the Everglades and do it down there. Once you’re gone an alligator will eat you so the alligator is happy and nobody has to suddenly come across a dead body and be horrified by that image for the rest of their life.
