Everyone is posting their memes on the bathroom bill, and will cheer if/when it’s overturned. Then we’ll move on to the next liberal-baiting outrage du jour.

Meanwhile, the suppression of minimum wages, elimination of additional protections for workers, etc. will remain comfortably intact.

The real problem is why individual states are even allowed to enact laws that remove people’s constitutional rights.

There is no reason states should be granted the right to set their own laws about capital punishment, marriage, guns, the right to vote or anything else that’s deemed a constitutional right.

As constitutional rights, they are the purview of the federal government, not the states. As part of the UNITED states, they don’t get to cherry pick what constitutional rights they want to grant. If they don’t like federal laws, they are free to leave the union and govern themselves how they see fit.

A buddy of mine is a litigator at a pretty large firm in NYC and he is the most “get rid of state laws” person I’ve ever met... and the more I see shit like this the more I get on board with him.

Except that no one has said that the rights in question are Constitutionally granted. The question at hand is whether they’re federally granted under existing law.

Why would you want to remove her from where she's doing so much good and put her in a do-nothing position like VP?

I’ve tried to stay positive because I believe your intentions are goods but I have to say something. Will you guys please, for the love of god, stop lumping all NCers together on this one. The Attorney General had the intelligence, foresight and common decency to appeal to all the forward thinkers of my great state and especially those hurt by this awful law. Please do the same. North Carolina didn’t do shit. It’s backwards ass governor, racist general assembly and gerrymandered, white trash, overrepresented constituents are solely to blame. The rest of us need all the help we can get to retake our beautiful state in November.

I don’t know about everyone else, but I’d never do that. North Carolina is where Moral Mondays has been happening (though it’s gotten very little attention nationally). There is a vigorous and proudly liberal community in the state that is unfortunately getting drowned out by the idiot regressives.

To be fair, the people of your state voted your shitass governor into office, as well as all the representatives who passed that law. We know that at least some of you are good people.

    Interesting.

When conservatives were complaining about Bruce Springsteen cancelling his concert in NC, they just called him another libtard. When Beyonce made an announcement they just told her to keep her mouth shut.

But now that the Coalminer’s Daughter has spoken up, they will be sure to listen.

More likely they’ll just call her an uppity n-word who only has the job because she’s Michelle’s secret lesbian lover because Obama is a dumb Muslim who loves getting cucked.

discrimination against transgender individuals who simply seek to engage in the most private of functions in a place of safety and security, a right taken for granted by most of us.

Thinking about it now, and reflecting on my time spent in the South, I’d wager dollars to donuts that female identifying transgender folks would get harassed way more often if forced into a men’s restroom, than women would get harassed by fake “transgender” women in the women’s rooms.
