    I can’t understand how people look at something like this and don’t know that something is deeply broken in our society in regards to the way men see women. It’s just so pervasive. We can’t keep attributing it to bad individuals. And I have no doubt that for every crime of this nature that we find out about there are many more that we don't.

      I was at a hipster bar yesterday and there were two men and a woman sitting next to me. All about late 20's. The woman asks mustache hipster #1 about something she had heard about how he and this other guy are knowingly sleeping with the same girl at different times. He said “yeah, didn’t you learn how to share your toys?” She laughed it off and hipster 1 and hipster 2 went to talk about all these other women they are trying to or going to fuck like they weren't absolute scumbags.

      I'm not giving a pass to the women who not only green light but actively seek out guys like this, but this is how a lot of men in really any kind of scene see women: a play thing to have whenever and wherever. Most people wouldn't see this kind of behavior and anything but your general fuck boy mentality, but the line between this attitude and sexual assault is razor thin.

      I remember being young and dumb enough to think that there were “those” kind of women that were treated like that and that I was different. It’s the same kind of thinking that makes us talk about the behavior of rape victims - I’m safe and I won’t be treated this way because I’m different. We aren’t.

    Oh god, the description of this woman’s reaction to being told that something horrible she couldn’t even remember happened to her! This guy is disgusting and I’m glad he was caught...no comment on how short his actual sentence will be.

      Did they do a tox screen? Was she drugged? I've been more drunk that I ever should have many times in my early 20s, but never so drunk I could put the pieces back together even if I blacked out.
