  I think you might surprised when she is no longer constrained by placating a wing of her party. Through the Primary (and her last) she had to check herself on the attack, but with Trump she is free to punch back. If the Republicans had hair one on their ass during the Primary, they would have attacked—but they too were worried about pissing off voters they need in the General. In the General, Hillary doesn’t need to placate anyone.

Is anybody going to mention the fact that Trump was actually (I know, I know) the correct one in this exchange with Cuomo? Bill Clinton signed NAFTA in December 1993. It was approved by the House and the Senate the previous month. Cuomo insists that Bush signed the bill. Like, wow, way to cede the higher ground to a guy with perhaps the biggest immediate reputation for fudging facts. How does Cuomo still have a job “reporting” the news?

You can’t outright confront Trump. He obviously deserves to be confronted about everything that comes out of his mouth, but he’s adept at quickly shifting the conversation to make the interviewer look combative. He’s a damn good salesman, and he knows how to shift a conversation in his favor, even if he’s totally unaware of what he’s selling.

The only way to catch Trump in an interview will be to draw him into stump speech, and then call him out on his inconsistencies. Expose him as a fraud to his lukewarm supporters (his diehard base is a lost cause).
