    Honestly, I would not be surprised if Cruz, who said he was “suspending” his campaign and not “ending” it, is making a calculated gamble that Trump will ease up, not get the 1237 delegates, and Cruz can re-emerge at the contested convention.

    Sounds unlikely but I wouldn’t put it past him.

      That didn’t occur to me, but now that you bring up the possibility, that’s exactly the kind of sleazy bending-the-parliamentary-rules stunt that Master Debater Ted would pull. Kind of like one of those vampire/zombie movies where in the last scene a skeletal hand pushes up out of the dirt in front of a gravestone and grabs the protagonist’s ankle.
