I saw a chart (I live my life by these) that said:

    1) Are you black?

    2) You can say the N word

I wouldn’t get my panties in a bunch over this.

key & peele had a whole skit about it, and I’m not sure how to google it at work to share. it was a commercial for an app about whether you can use that word or not. it was great.

White folks’ relationship with the n word is truly fascinating and it encapsulates white pathology so perfectly. Eliminate the word we used (use) to oppress because black people are reclaiming it and it makes us uncomfortable and as we all know white comfort takes precedent over the very concept of humanity.

I as a white person feel uncomfortable if anyone *but* black folk use either form of the conjugation. I feel white folk are not entitled to it. (We feel entitled to too much already.)

Exactly. If it can’t be used to exert (white) power and fear, it's too dangerous and vulgar. If it is used to create solidarity between poc, eliminate it immediately.

As a white dude who has voted for our president twice and has deep admiration for the President Obama, I got teary when I read Larry’s remarks because my pride must be infinitesimal in comparison to Whitmore’s.

    Fuck off, Piers.

One of the proudest days of my life was when this country elected a black president. I didn’t think it would happen in my lifetime. Since then, I’ve had many many many more days of just abject embarrassment as our country (and some of my family, dammit) have shown just how racist we still are. That he SURVIVES eight years will be a remarkable and yet bittersweet achievement. tl;dr: suck it, haters.

      This feels ambiguous.

Piers Morgan’s mere existence is infinitely more offensive than anything Larry Whitmore can say.

I have a running theory that we had to make a deal with England: they’d let John Oliver emigrate, but we had to take Piers Morgan too. Like an immigration salary dump.

That’s a terrible trade. If we’re going to take on that salary we should have at least gotten them to take Bieber or a Kardassian to be named later. Who did Obama hire on as GM to make this terrible trade, Ben Cherrington? #redsoxjoke #bencherringtonsucks #yankeessuck.

Hey, Beiber is still on Canada’s rolls. We expect at least two gold medals in men’s Olympic ice hockey before we take that turkey of a contract on.

Besides, if any country is in a position to eat salary to get an immigration they want, it’s the US.

I can’t think about Piers Morgan without thinking about an article from The Guardian detailing how not to get Norovirus. The whole article is quite funny, but this is the most apt description of Piers ever:

“Everywhere the norovirus goes it leaves vast steaming lakes of freshly expelled vomit in its wake. It’s like Piers Morgan, but invisible. Which actually makes it slightly better than Piers Morgan.”

I would bet money that he’s the type who thinks his outsider status grants him more authority because it makes him ‘more objective.’
