    There have been A LOT of US Service member deaths in Syria and Iraq over the past few months. My social media feeds are filled with service members who get word when their friends die. Even though they are not allowed to talk about it or publicly acknowledge these particular deaths (since we most definitely do not have combat troops on the ground in those places lol), they post a little symbol just so everyone knows.

    We’ve got combat troops on the ground fighting and they are regularly dying.

      It was his fate, his 'appointment in Samarra'. Had he been home he would have been shot by a gun wielding toddler no doubt.
