Yes, a lawsuit seems like a reasonable reaction instead of, you know, asking the barista to go light on the ice.

The worst part about Marvel getting Spider Man back is no more Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy.

Yeah, it doesnt really though. If you look at their cups, there are three lines. The highest one is slightly more than half way up up the cup and is where they fill to normally. The bottom one, still about halfway up the cup, just like an inch lower, is where they fill to when you ask for “light” ice. You still get a HUGE amount of ice when you ask for it light. At one point in my life I took to asking for “literally 5 cubes of ice...” I got some weird looks but, hey, I got mostly drink hah.

ETA: you can see the lines in the pictures above!

Pretty much just scroll through the comments looking to see if JujyMonkey has provided a Simpsons reference tbh.

There is an easy way to fix this, just ask for light ice. It works I promise.

No, it does not. Anytime I order a drink - soda or not - I ask for NO ice. 3 out of 4 times I get the glass filled with cubes.

Absolutely— I wonder if this woman doesn’t realize the severity of the other person’s hot coffee experience and thinks she’s the icy equivalent.

I’m a huge nerd who loved that stupid show with Simon Baker even though I can’t remember the name of it at this moment. Ok, I just love Simon Baker. Dude’s character was actually drinking tea on the show, but the sentiment stands.

The show was “The Mentalist”, sort of a CBS version of “Psych” with a super observant savant type helping the police solve crime.

I thought that was the whole deal with iced coffee: They charge you more money for a bunch of ice, a bunch of sugared flavoring and a little bit of actual coffee.

Yeah.... I feel like the solution here is to not go to Starbucks? I make my own cold brew: 1 part coffee to 2 parts water- mix it together and let it sit in the fridge for 24 - 48 hours.

Costs about 50 cents a cup.

For real though, it’s about fucking time. I got a cold brew last week and the medium size was 90% ice with about 3/4 a cup of coffee. Not cool, Starbucks. We all know you don’t need that much ice to keep the thing cold, you’re just trying to cut costs.

Might seem dumb but this is a real consumer issue, like the “non-functional slack fill” limit on bags of potato chips. We are paying for goods and not receiving them.

I don’t understand how people didn’t know this before this stupid lawsuit. Ice takes up space in a cup, space that could be occupied by drink. If you order something with ice, you get much less drink

My local starbucks informed me last week that they have a strict policy on light ice now. You can have light ice but no more beverage, or they can top it up with water. Not coooooool.

There are people in this country awaiting trial for felonies, but they don’t have a lawyer to represent them because their local public defender office is broke. And then we have this.
