When we get in the car and we’ve brought everything and everybody has socks on, it’s like a dream come true.

Jesus if this just isn’t the perfect summation of what it’s like to be a parent, I don’t know what is.

WHERE ARE YOUR SHOES GET YOUR SHOES ON

Especially the sock part. The baby always loses their socks in the last 5 minutes before you leave. And no woman over 40 can walk by a sockless baby (even if it’s 90 degrees out) without commenting.

this family is so goddamn beautiful I can’t stand it

    and also

When we get in the car and we’ve brought everything and everybody has socks on, it’s like a dream come true.”

My mom used to drive my brother and me to school every day and there were at least 10 times when we pulled into the parking lot and discovered he had neither shoes nor socks on (and this was when we were technically old enough to dress ourselves). One day, without enough time to drive back home, he had to wear my mom’s pink fleece bedroom slippers into middle school. After that, “do you have shoes?” was put on a sign on the back door and stayed there for years.

So yeah, this family sounds pretty awesome.

Whenever my mom drives somewhere with someone, after everyone gets out of the car, but before the doors are shut, she will ask the driver, “Do you have your keys?” because she locked herself out of the car once in 1979 and vowed that it would never happen again. I think it’s mildly annoying, but sweet; a sign of affection and care, like your dog following so close behind you that you sometimes trip over him. It drives my dad batty, though, and one time he lost his shit and screamed at her in the Walmart parking lot about it. So, she was all like, FINE, see if I ever try to help you again, and quit with the little reminder. Later that week my dad locked his keys in the car. This was like 15 years ago, and my mom brings it up practically anytime I drive anywhere with her.

Can I just say how cool it is to see both a family of color and a man featured prominently on the cover of a parenting magazine?? As a non-parent I’m not familiar with how often this particular magazine does this, maybe it’s frequent so this isn’t a big deal? I think it’s neato. This guy seems like a great Dad and I’m glad to see this.

It’s very cool! I actually receive this magazine, and they rarely feature men (much less men of color) on their covers.

She’ll be on the cover of Vogue in 15 years. She’s already a better model than Kendall Jenner.

You might want to be careful. She's said some shady shit in the past using Jesus and Christianity as a cover. I think it was something about women being classy or dressing like thots (I love women who dress scandalously, it gives me something to aspire to).
