    Trump is objectively the best Republican candidate. A xenophobic racist, sure but I don’t think he is married to any of the conservative social issues that have dominated that party. Trump doesn’t give a shit if gay people get married or if trans people are using whatever bathrooms....you know, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Trump run to the left if/when he gets the nomination.

    I’m not saying he will be a good president, but I do think he is the best Republican candidate out of those running today.

      Pssst - he’s more progressive than Hillary too. Hillary will wade into the culture wars for political points - as she did back in the day defending DOMA and arguing against gay marriage. Trump doesn’t give a fuck about these sorts of issues, and would be better on them through sheer benign neglect.

    Cruz is pure evil, but Jenner has always been a moron. It doesn’t matter if it was Bruce Jenner on a box of Wheaties or Caitlyn Jenner the world’s most prominent transgender person.

    The fact she supports a political party that has a lot of members who, in a very real sense, would love to wipe her and people like her off the face of the earth, is totally messed up.

    If she thinks there’s some distinction between Cruz and the “establishment” in the GOP today, she’s out of her mind.

      There have always been female, black, and gay Republicans who have been loyal to a party that loathes them and advocates against their rights. Jenner wanting to stay buddy-buddy with rich white conservative people after transitioning (because nobody like being ostracized as a freak by people they’ve considered lifelong friends) is still FAR less insane than anything people like Phyllis Schlafly have done.

      I’m not sure that’s true. Trans arrests for bathroom perversion are much less likely to show up on the Huffington Post and Gawker, which I assume is where you get 100% of your news.

    Kudos to Caitlynn Jenner for pissing where she should and also for giving a platform to Jenny Finney Boylan and Kate Bornstein. Oh, and providing the masses with sweet trans eye candy like Ella Giselle and Zackary Drucker.

    Those things alone cancel out any negative impact the Kardashians have had on culture.

      Caitlyn is just as ignorant as any of her GOP folkren and because she wears a dress and no longer calls herself a man doesn’t mean suddenly this is a better or different person. So what that she pissed wherever? Dogs are quite free where they piss too, but we aren’t praising their brilliance for it.

      Being transexual doesn’t equal a better person, less racist person, less ignorant person, less hateful person. No magical greatness.

    I’m not a fan of Jenner(either when he was a guy or now) because of his/her(not an insult, I’m pointing out that I wasn’t a fan before he transitioned as well as not being a fan now) decades long history of overt attention seeking, but this is fucking awesome!

      It is an insult. Jenner is referred to by female pronouns even if you’re referring to her before transition. It’s also customary to refer to her as Cait when talking about her sports history no matter how she identified at the time.

      The closest you can get is by saying that she ran in the men’s group.

      So just say: I wasn’t a fan of Cait before, don’t like her since her activism, but this is fucking awesome.
