This whole PR set-up smells like Arianna is angling for a position in the Trump/Hillary administration.

I bet you either one of them will make her Secretary of the Environment/Naps.

Oh, please. She was a Republican up until the (late) 90s. She’ll take any political position that benefits her at the moment.

Uh, isn’t your boss worth something like $320 million? And hides all of Gawkers assets in offshore tax havens while his lowly peons write articles condemning every other multi-millionaires for doing the same thing?

While it is very obvious that Gawker is simply writing thinly veiled hit-pieces on their competition (Buzzfeed, Huff, VICE) out of simple greed instead of altruism, they maintain the advantage of putting action to their words.

They did vote to unionize, which is a very interesting development among this changing world of blogging and new-era media.

I’m going to beat her here to say that none of us get enough sleep nowadays. Sleep is the key to success, and you should read her book, um, try to get at least 8 hours a night.

      It is funny but...

In mental health they talk with patients about MEDS. At one point it was just MED.

      Medication

      Exercise

      Diet

      Sleep

They stress that, for many people, sleep is more important than all the rest including medication. Disrupting the sleep cycle is enough to mess with chemical balances for depression/bipolar/schizophrenia and tip them over the edge, even when on proven regimented pharmaceuticals

Crazy, right? We are only starting to understand the role sleep plays in our biology.

Trump apparently sleeps 4 hours a night. Explains a lot.

Oh, leave her alone! She’s living the American dream. Which is, of course, fame and fortune, which one attains by marrying wealthy Republican and prominent homo-American Michael Huffington and running him for Senate, until he loses and he falls in love with a dude. You then divorce your treacherous husband but continue to chase the fame dragon. And since this, unfortunately, was before reality shows, all you can do to get press is run for Governor of California. And when that road to fame also fails, it’s time to reassess your life and figure out which way the country is going, at which point you embrace progressive politics. Now you’re the darling of third-way loving liberal politicians and Bill Maher and you’ve reached your goal! You’ve finally made it Hillary, er, I mean Arianna!!

This should be inscribed at the base of the Statue of Liberty to inspire people to chase the American dream.

I’d like to remind Arianna Huffington that, within a few decades at the most, she’s going to be dead.

If you are a journalist making an honest living and want to live in an opulent soho apartment then maybe you should start your own news organization.

What, that isnt an easy thing to do? Could it be that her success in a difficult market place has paid off? Is it a massive coincidence that all these damn rick people took chances on business, likely risking the wealth they had (or maybe the wealth their parents had) on a venture that could have cost millions, but turned out to be the right move? She is bad at life and we should celebrate only those who did a four year degree and got a job sitting at a desk complaining they dont make as much money. (Btw, I am one of those people, just with a seven year degree and not so much complaining)

I once worked for a company that had literally never had layoffs. They were very proud of that fact. New CEO from out-of-state, total asshole, runs the place ineptly, starts getting company into trouble. Naturally, we get our first layoffs. Adios, long-timers! Good luck finding a new job in your 50s.

The next day — I shit you not — he brought his staff out to the parking lot to show them his new Mercedes.

The point of this story is that not every successful person risks anything. Some rich people are just lucky. Very lucky.

And some of those very lucky rich people are total fucking assholes.

That shit gives me rage aneurysms. People at that level of society somehow manage to magically do no wrong even when they blatantly and obviously do.

We’ve been through a series of inept VP’s over the years, every one higher paid than the previous and equally stupid. They come in with no indication that they know what they’re doing but can talk a big jargon game, cut departments and budgets to save money, land themselves a huge bonus for doing so, make some deals that totally fuck over the institution and bail, get a nice sizable package on the way out with congrats from the CEO, move on to the next institution to repeat the process.

Seriously this shit drives me insane.

Wow, a rich out of touch media personality is scummy as hell? NEVER would have guessed that. I’m glad the employees unionized, (former UFCW 876 represent!), and it’s so funny that she is fighting it, but then goes and joins the board of uber, the next generation of exploitable workers. If they unionized, oh man would the be hilarious. Gig economy what it is though, it’s hard to say how effective it would be.

Progressive my ass. Pompous celebrity, who doesn’t understand the struggles of the 99%.

        Choose one, Ariana!

What’s more important, having editorial influence or being a newspaper Baron and installing a new brocade Fortuny fabric lined money pit? The money pit, obviously, because you could still exert editorial influence without being Editor-in-Chief because that’s what newspaper Baron’s have always done. Stay at Uber, and join a bunch of other boards as well. Fuck staying on the journalism side, no money in that shit.

Yet another wealthy charlatan claiming to be liberal because it’s proven to be profitable. Yet when the rubber meets the road, she might as well be a fucking Koch bro. There are some good people at HuffPo, not unlike Gawker. But also not unlike Gawker, they’re working for a complete tit. Would love to see that garbage blog (Huff) get blown up, and the talented people there all land somewhere better.
