Are the Pershmerga as fierce as I hear, or is that our propaganda?

Also, these guys are poorly trained and hella disorganized.

No shit. I was waiting for one of them to accidently launch a rocket into the cab of their own vehicle. Scary buisness though with no cover out there.

This makes me feel like it’s just idiots everywhere running around with bad ideas and opposable thumbs. How did we end up on the top of the food chain as opposed to house cats or those turtles that always look surprised?

Yes, we left billions of dollars worth of equipment in Iraq and gave it to the Iraqi army that ISIS proceeded to loot and pillage when they had the Iraqi army running with their tail between their legs a few years ago.

The Kalashnikovs? Not gonna jam. It’s the most popular series of rifles in the world because a child can literally use and maintain one. They aren’t exactly well known for accuracy, but they will consistently spray bullets.

The machine gun looks like a German MG 3, and I really have no idea how reliably they feed.

The Peshmerga have been one of the only reliable ISIS-ass-kicking forces in the region. So if the Kurds have demonstrated the ability to defend their region, have the beginnings of an organized system of governance, operate a pretty unique (if gray market) economy, and if their citizens want to be independent, the next step is to actually acknowledge the irredentist movement’s right to statehood. Can’t wait to see how badly we again let this group down.

Because they have, by a long shot, the most powerful army in the region (2nd largest in NATO), are the only force capable of holding Russia away from the Med and Middle East if they need to - and it’s good to have them on our side. Oh and also, they agree to hold our nuclear bombs on their territory.
The Kurds are great and all, but won’t matter much in WW3.
