    I’m still pissed off that this shooting, which the shooter admitted was an attack on women, did not get a ton of attention. People focused on the fact that it was in a movie theater more than the fact that the shooter was an admitted misogynist. I mean the host of a radio show even said that the shooter frequently vocalized opinions like, “He was opposed to women having a say in anything.” And I feel like this just wasn’t viewed as an attack on women even though it very clearly was.

    Oh. And from the headline, I thought she meant she regretted making the movie for the movie’s sake. Which was pretty universally panned by the Jez commentariat, which I finally saw this weekend and actually found it pleasantly enjoyable, probably because of y’all’s comments.

    But reading comprehension fail, I missed the “shooting” part of the story. Just. Ugh.

      It’s not a fail on your part to understand the title. Without context, the title does suggest that, for some reason, Schumer hated writing the movie, and we are left to speculate like you did. It’s bad writing, not bad comprehension.

      That scene..............

      I remember getting up in the middle of the night once and seeing it playing as my SO slept on the couch- in my mind it kept playing over and over, although in retrospect it was simply that Robin Williams kept repeating “It wasn’t your fault” over and over. It really gave me pause over well, just about everything.

      I haven’t read the article, so not sure if they address it, but something i’ve noticed about her from following her on instagram and stuff is that she seems to keep her “pre-famous” friends in a genuine way. Like when I see a pic of her having fun with someone I’ve never seen I think, who is that? Oh it’s actually a non-famous person. Which I feel is rare! Seems like celebs only post pics of themselves with other celebs.

      It reads as if she regretted shooting the movie, or writing it. Not that she was talking about a shooting AT a showing of the movie. “Trainwreck shooting” implies the shooting of said movie.

    I can’t even imagine the clusterfuck of feelings you would have after something so horrible happened because of (? I guess ?) something I had done. The hole into which I would want to hide forever could not be deep enough. Glad to see she’s channeling that energy into something positive; says a lot about her character, I think.
