In other words, he paid tens of millions of dollars to burn down the Republican Party, and now he’s shocked and angry that they aren’t paying proper fealty to him. So now he’s putting on this show of pious nonpartisanship, as if this disaster wasn’t the natural outcome of their decade-plus of unrepentant shitstirring.

The Kochs wanted a Republican Party that was totally beholden to corporate interests. Instead it’s white supremacists, “War on Christmas” nuts, and the other various dregs of the extreme right. Unfortunately, the destruction they wrought made it impossible for anyone to take charge; anyone responsible enough to actually lead the party, even if they’re an extreme conservative like Kasich or Bush, is a RINO unworthy of the base’s adulation.

If you create a party of bomb-throwers, you shouldn’t be surprised when they want to be represented by bomb-throwers.

No, that’s actually not what he said. What he said is he knows his money will buy no influence in this election, so he’s smart enough to save his money. Think about how sad Jeb’s supporters are now that he took a match to millions of their dollars.

My point is, the fact that his money will buy no influence is the direct result of how he’s chosen to spend his money. When you tear down anyone who dares try to govern, you’re left with no one worth influencing. This is like moaning that there’s no houses worth buying, when you’ve been supplying troublemakers with matches and gasoline. Of course there’s no houses, motherfucker, you burned them all down!

I don’t think he’s being dishonest. Politics is about working for results. He’s about rigging the game. That’s a level above petty ‘politics.’

I was just about to make the same comment, but you beat me to it. He has no interest in policy, democracy, civics or any of that crap. Everything he’s ever done has been to protect his own dime, and to hell with everyone else.

Last year, before Donald Trump threw a wrench in everyone’s plans,it was reported that the Kochs were planning to spend $889 million on the 2016 election.

instead of spending $1billion on the presidential election, why don’t they just hire $1billion worth of labor, and fix unemployment crisis in America

Because $1 Billion would not do a damn thing in that regard. Say you want to pay a shitty minimum wage of $15 / hour, 2000 hours in a year that means $30K / person. You could hire 33K people for one year at an income level that is poverty in most urban areas around the country. To really change someone’s life you need to provide them with a job that lasts more than a year, and pays more than diddly.

$1 Trillion would be a start. No one (person or corporation) has $1 Trillion dollars.

Koch’s endorsement of HRC is one of the most amusing events of this campaign. I’m sure the Trump camp was delighted and the Clinton team was horrified.

There’s no reason for her to be horrified because money doesn’t influence her politics, remember? So she shouldn’t have a problem with the Kochs donating money to her campaign and airing commercials on her behalf.

I look forward to those ads. “We’re the Koch brothers, job creators from Koch industries, and we endorse Hillary Clinton” sounds so sweet.

I don’t think she’s horrified, but more like nodding in approval at picking up such a good corporate sponsor to go along with the others. Sort of like a Nascar that already has a ton of stickers all over it, but then you get “Citibank” to take up your whole hood.

Regarding Charles Koch on Hillary Clinton- What more evidence do Democrats need to show them that they are about to elect their own Margaret Thatcher?

It is going to be very interesting to watch a general election where a Republican runs to the left of a Democrat.

      Oh yeah? Lets see.....

HRC- supports the TPP, TTIP, TISA, against single payer, has clearly stated that she wants to means test social security and raise the retirement age, clearly supports the state security apparatus, and is very willing to turn brown people into pink mist.

Trump- Against TPP, TTIP, TISA, supports single payer, stated that he would protect SS, and has clearly stated that regime changes are a bad idea.

Aaaaaaand- we are not even to the general yet, where HRC will tack right, and Trump will tack left.

This is not to say that Trump is a good candidate, but this clearly illustrates how tribal/partisan based politics blind people to reality.

I say vote for Cthulu, because why choose the lesser evil?

Very nice ad hominem by the way!

Don’t they mean - We’ve enjoyed controlling the GOP with $$$ but this orange lunatic has entered the race and we don’t know how we can break him. And on the other side you have this guy who won’t shut up about money in politics, so we can’t hide what we’re doing very well. So, I guess we’ll try our hand with some double speak and support the candidate who is also playing the game as the rules allow and see if we can get back in control of things.

It actually is different. Think of politics as the game and policies as the outcomes of the game.

The Kochs don’t care about playing the game, which requires things like compromise, collaboration, and otherwise dealing with the fact that we live in a pluralistic society. They would rather just make the policies themselves.
