I don’t know one way or the other if this is true, but why would the Saudis fund an attack on the US? We were buying their oil and kissing their ass and looking the other way while they treat their citizens like shit.

I really hope this doesn’t sound extremely obnoxious but I encourage you to read this very good book, explains a hell of a lot re: Saudi sponsorship of terror

Ya’ll seem like a smart bunch. I’d like hear the gawkersphere’s take on how Saudi Arabia would benefit from supporting the 9/11 attacks. What say you?

Because Bin Laden hated them for letting our military use Saudi lands to put airbases on it, during Desert Storm.

What do you even say here? The Saudis obviously believe the pages at least suggest their involvement and don’t want either the consequences or even the headache of a shift in public opinion. The politicians who have made nice with Saudi Arabia over the years run the risk of looking like shit-bags. This is all going to come out one way or another. If the Saudis really want to sell 750 billion in securities and send the world economy spiraling again, I say fuck them, and do it.

Here’s the thing though: they aren’t going to do that. They may decide to fund other terror operations or some horrible shit, but they aren’t going to send the global economy into a tailspin.

The Federal Reserve would (could) simply buy those treasuries like they did all the shitty mortgage-backed securities from banks post-2008 and bing bang boom, done.

      Fucking bring it.

We know Dubai are our good friends, that’s why Bush wanted to sell our shipping docks to them.

You know that basically all of the Saudi Royal family were allowed to fly out of the US after the FAA locked down all flights immediately after 9/11. That doesn’t sound fishy at all, does it?

A lot of those guys were also in meetings w/ Bush in the days/weeks before 9/11 as well. Perhaps they were playing both sides?

I thought the Saudi’s threatened to sell treasuries if the right of victims to sue was passed, not the 28 pages being released?

In any case good luck trying to sell 750 billion in treasuries while not absolutely fucking yourself financially while you are in a down oil market to boot.

I know, really. This is a bad time for them to be making this particular threat. Where else are they going to put the money? Back into raising living standards for their people? Ha, ha.

For what it’s worth, the envelope with the flight certificate in it may not be that weird. International students frequently have their official documents sent via their embassy if they’ve left the U.S. before they were issued, especially if it’s someplace that a lot of express carriers don’t do a lot of business. Furthermore, with Saudis specifically, diplomas, transcripts, and certifications from abroad all have to be certified by the Ministry of Education before they really count for anything.

But that’s just one possible explanation. It could just as easily be something more meaningful to the attacks.

Can we stop calling this a “conspiracy theory” now?

    Seriously.

‘9/11 truther’ needs to stop being a pejorative, because it’s headline news in mainstream press.

Fun fact: George Bush Sr. was with the Saudi Royal Family when 9/11 attacks happened.
