      I know a scientist who ran an experiment involving mating a species of guinea pigs who mate for life, then killing off one of them and seeing what effect it had on the other.

      Turns out guinea pigs also overeat and lay around a lot when mourning.

      /I think the purpose of the study was to find some way to measure the effect of certain hormones in the brain.

      Also why I can’t get too mad at the husband. He sucks all the fun out of watching sci fi or fantasy, but the crap he drones on about is just interesting enough that I don’t quite want to duct tape his mouth.

    Only humans produce tears? But what about dogs? Light-colored poodle-types get tear stains...is the liquid coming out of dogs’ eyes not considered tears, and if not, why not?

    These are important questions. Come at me, Vets and Other Animal Professionals.

      I saw a cat cry once. My SO said, “What’s wrong with Jasper?” and when I turned around, big fat tears were welled up in his little kitty eyes. Scared the heck out of me.

      I’m pretty sure the little jerk had just eaten a stinkbug, though, because he was okay after that.

        Okay but that’s if you’re taking the definition of crying as the production of tears. It could also mean to call out which would make sense in the context of the song because he is talking about a sound.

            I think so. I always interpreted “cry”in that context as yelling, like a town cryer, not “cry” as in weeping.
