“she makes just shy of $15 million a year, and her lifestyle eats up most of it.”

    ???
    WTF?
One pretty much has to be a crazy, spoiled monster to “need” $15 million a year.

City living with a family of 5, the way they do it, will go through that like a hot knife through imported french sel de mar artisan butter.

Taxes, mortgages, tuitions, staff, upkeep on the Hampton house...

I still don’t understand why Disney would throw Kelly Ripa and Lara Spencer under the bus for Michael Strahan. I do not get his appeal at all. I would love to see Kelly up and quit and leave Live in the lurch. Surely she could find another job making lots of money.

Oh fuck yourself, ABC “source,” trying to insinuate Kelly is in a weak position because of her “spending habits.” Am I supposed to be appalled that a woman who makes $15 mil a year spends it on fancy real estate local to where she’s raising her three kids? Or that UES townhomes and Hampton manses indicate some sort of frivolous Carrie Bradshaw attitude toward money? Seriously fuck everyone at ABC right now. Shut up now instead of six months from now when Anderson Cooper is sitting next to Kelly and the network is reaping the benefits.

It’s great money, and I’m sure she’s grateful for it (and earns it with her charm, intelligence, compassion, self deprecation etc) but it’s not FUCK OFF money by Manhattan standards. And she’s young. Why wouldn’t she chose to live just how she does, feather her (their) nest and be able to continue to live well. No judgement.

Can you imagine if it ends up being Ripa and Cooper? They’ll each be paid to hang out with best friend in the morning, which they do for free every night anyway. That Ripa/Cohen/Cooper click is TIGHT and they’ve been best friends for a few decades.

If it does? Well fucking played, Ripa. You earned this.

Aging myself terribly, but 20 years ago I worked in a pet store in the Beverly Center (I know now that selling puppies in pet stores is wrong, and they come from puppy mills, but I was 18, needed a job and was offered money to essentially spend my day playing with puppies) and Zach from Rage bought a bulldog and I was holding it for him while he was signing papers and getting lectures. Some girls came up and were all over the puppy and asked, “Did he just buy that for you???”

So that’s my whole story, some girls in a mall, circa 1996 thought I was the singer in Rage’s girlfriend. Third in line of my top 5 stories. Not as good as pulling a baby deer out of a river or escaping from the RenFest prison system with my brother. But better than going to lunch with Puck from the Real World and being mistaken for a hooker while waiting for my friend to pump gas.

Jim Marchese was the slimiest on RHNJ and this is still grossly shocking.

Good for Juliette and Brad. Not that shocking when you remember she’s mostly been a musician for the last decade. Loved her as “Iron Maven” in Whip It!

Tom Morello is the shit. Definitely the most talented member of Rage. I read that piece a while back but I forgot about it and how wonderful it was.

I wonder what Ryan’s favorite Rage song is? Is it the one where we condemn the genocide of Native Americans? The one lambasting American imperialism? Our cover of “Fuck the Police”? Or is it the one where we call on the people to seize the means of production? So many excellent choices to jam out to at Young Republican meetings!

In other news, because this made me think of it, did you know Tom Morello did a couple Star Trek guest spots? One on Voyager, and one in Insurrection. He’s apparently a big Trekkie, which makes me happy.

WWE legend Chyna has died at age 45

The number of wrestlers who die too young seems like far too many to be a coincidence. There is clearly something wrong with that business. RIP Joanie

The douchebags at WWE have a large number of skeletons in their closet. They treat everyone who works for them like shit, in a forcefully over-the-top, competitive, douche-bro, misogynist environment. Vince and his turd of a wife are horrible excuses for human beings.
