I just saw it tonight. I feared it was overhyped. I didn’t think “anything” could be that good. It really really is that good. It was a privilege to see Hamilton. It deserves every Pulitzer, Tony, and other award for which it is nominated.

Did you cry? Because I sob through most of act 2. And some of act 1.

If I got Hamilton tickets, I can’t decide whether I would keep them and go see the show or sell them for a semester’s worth of in-state tuition.

Just dip into your multi million dollar trust fund for tuition! I know it's annoying to pull the money out of your stocks but I think it would be worth it for the treat.

He just calmly closes himself in. Such a good boy.

ALSO, creepy? I haven’t seen your comments around as much and I MISS THEM SO MUCH. I hope your okay! (because I assume people who stop commenting have contracted some horrible life changing disease that makes them unable to comment. Like athletes foot or something.)

...i feel like the only person here who has never heard of hamilton. (well except hamilton ontario. but. like. not the same thing—that much i can tell.) instead of googling it my brain just resigned itself to never knowing. and i feel okay about that! (also, i am so tired of feigning excitement over babies. imagine i inserted kate beaton’s ‘shut up about babies’ drawing here. which i definitely would have done if that was a thing i knew how to do.)

It’s a broadway play that’s gotten a lot of crossover attention. It’s a play about Alexander Hamilton, one of America’s “founding fathers,” but a lot of the music incorporates rap and the majority of the actors/actresses are PoC.

I personally feel like it is getting so much hype because many journalists live in New York so they have a New York perspective on things... like, I live in Texas, there’s no fucking way I’m seeing Hamilton any time soon.

But the soundtrack is on Spotify if you’re into that kind of thing.

Wait, are you Canadian? That might explain it.

Goose covered the basics, so I won’t go into all that, but what’s especially worth noting is that there are bazillions of people who said they didn’t expect Hamilton to live up to the hype, but then it turned out to be some kind of profound, life-changing experience. Oh, and President Obama could very well be Hamilton’s #1 fan.

Lin-Manuel Miranda – the writer, director and star – apparently was inspired to create it because he was reading a biography of Alexander Hamilton and he thought the dude sounded like a classic hip-hop icon. No, really, that’s not a joke.

I'm seeing it when it comes to SF, and I have orchestra seats! I mean I have listened to it only 1 million times already but I'm still very excited. Also, I try not to, but that's probably exactly how I react to baby news at this point.

I’d be far more excited about Hamilton tickets than a baby...their indifference to the “miracle of life” is so me...

Now I need a rich friend with pull to take me to this

This is amazing. Getting pregnant with fertility treatment is approximately equal in cost to getting Hamilton tix. So I think they're about the same in terms of accomplishments.

The guy in the dog crate makes me really uncomfortable. Mostly because I feel like someone I know has been telling people how I live and now it’s being exploited.
