    All of this is so not surprising. I spent one legislative session as an intern when Spitzer was governor. During that time, one intern was fired and a new Republican “family values” assemblyman was quietly censured for having an affair. Her roommates didn’t like her so they took a photo of him leaving her apartment in the morning and sent it to the intern office, and that was the only reason he was caught.

    The year after, a long time Republican assemblyman paid for his intern’s abortion. He was also privately censured.

    I heard two staffers having sex during the day in the office building.

    We weren’t allowed to be in the building past 6pm, attend any functions with alcohol (even if we were 21), or ride in cars with assembly members or staff because the year before an intern accused Silver’s top aide of sexual assault. That didn’t usually stop us because no one was watching.

    Nice staff members would also point out which assembly members to watch out for. They all knew what was going on and be like “don’t step into an elevator alone with so and so” or “don’t go to so and so’s hotel.” Even with that, some of the interns actually went to gala after parties with those so and so’s but I was a bit too chicken.

    When I was single and alone, women would tell me to wear a wedding ring to meet girls and get laid. The reason being, single woman like married men because they don't have to worry about a guy calling them. Now that I'm married for real, I have to admit this prophesy has not been fulfilled. I am not knee deep in shag. How does this guy do it? And why did these women hang on?

      You need to have something of value to give to the woman. If the value does not lie within you, then you must have something worth external value to give them. Shelly is a nasty piece of shit but he had billions of NY state money to hand out. That is what got him laid, not any wedding ring or personality.
