I find Mara Wilson really intelligent and witty. I want to read her memoir but I absolutely will not because I can’t emotionally handle reading about Robin Williams. Especially Robin Williams as Mrs. Doubtfire.

You can probably skip that part. That’s how I watch Vikings or anything gory/ scary- fast forward, baby!

SAME. My dad died 5 years ago and our movie growing up was Mrs. Doubtfire. So this plus knowing him and robin are gone would just be too much. TOO SOON lol

I spent a lot of my childhood trying to pick up the classroom chalk with my mind.

I still try to pick things up with my mind. Just in case I’m a late bloomer or something.

Also, I’m still waiting on admission to an adult education course, Hogwarts.

Haha, ditto. Whenever an object randomly falls down without anyone touching it I’ll still start muttering “tip over, glass, glass, tip over” and giggling like a deranged person.

It's so great she was able to escape the Hollywood child star trap. She was able to things beyond acting. It was fascinating reading the article where she talked about being a child star and why so many have trouble with it.

A friend of mine spent like two months thinking I was some weird stalker because of Mara Wilson. We went to a Welcome to Night Vale live show with her and I made some comment about how she looked as a child, and my friend didn’t realize she was a child actress so she thought I was being weird and obsessive. Couple of months later she called me like, “OMG, the Faceless Old Woman is Matilda! That’s what you meant!”

    That’s my Mara Wilson story.

Bahahaha this cracked me up. What was she thinking the whole two months before it dawned on her? Like, she was still your friend but side-eyed you all the time?

Pretty much, haha. I can get hyperfocused on topics that interest me (which doesn’t include celebrities, FWIW, but she didn’t realize that) and dig up all kinds of weird and obscure information, and she thought I did that to Mara Wilson and found it a little creepy but not so bad that she felt obligated to say something, so she just gave me a weird look (which I noticed at the time and thought *she* was just being weird) and let it go.

Mara’s character on Welcome To Night Vale is “The Faceless Old Woman Who Secretly Lives In Your Home.” And she’s really scary.
