    Gene Simmons can take a fucking seat. I hate people who are so dismissive of other musical genres. Especially coming from him, because it’s clear he’s bitter that he’s not able to be as famous as rappers and hip hop artists right now and it’s igging him because he remembers his heydays.

    Rap is an art form. It’s spoken word set to beats, that sometimes samples other music to add to the richness of the story they’re telling. It’s poetry. Regardless of whether it’s nonsensical raunchy/ridiculous bullshit or deep introspective lyrics, it’s still music. Let’s not act like all rock songs are lyrical masterpieces.

    There are amazing and incredibly stupid examples of lyrical content from all genres of music, but that doesn’t make the song any less valuable. It might not inspire or interest you, but it’s popular because it’s got fans somewhere that do like it. Your taste doesn’t dictate to the world. Take a seat and appreciate that you had your time at the top and you’re continuing to live off that glory all now, when you’re just a grumpy old man yelling at the kids to get off your lawn with their loud music you don’t understand.
