Explaining the phenomenon that is propelling the Trump candidacy is easy, despite the nattering of the cognoscenti—the media elite, the professional political class and the people largely insulated or directly benefitting from the failures of the last seven years.

This is YOU. You’re writing about YOURSELVES. You ARE the nattering cognoscenti.

Really, it’s like they dont understand the audience they’ve always served: the NYC media, real estate, arts, and financial services industries. This is the kind of editorial you’d expect to see in the Post (a Murdoch paper which will probably endorse an RNC establishment choice like Cruz or Ryan).

“disillusioned Americans” is an interesting way of spelling “cowardly pieces of shit”

Frankly every media outlet is guilty of this kind of thinking, yes, I am sure Trump’s supports believe in him very much, that they have strong feeling, it doesn’t make those feelings valid, they are still idiots.

That endorsement reads like the sad, resigned sigh of somebody in captivity realizing they’re never going to be free.

“Donald Trump is the father-in-law of the Observer’s publisher,” the endorsement begins. “That is not a reason to endorse him...

Well there sure aren’t many other reasons...

It’s not really fair to call the Observer a “Trump family newspaper.”

Kushner earned that all on his own, achieving his particular inherited wealth separately from the two generations of Trump inherited wealth on display here.

Mr. Trump was tapping into the pent-up desire of millions of voters to make America great again.

It is not merely a political slogan; it is a vision and an attitude. It depends not on 14-point proposals or an SAT-like cramming of policy details. It depends on faith and leadership.

Leadership like having a proposal or knowing policy details? Nope. Just...you know... things.

Well shit, the Observer endorsement will surely carry weight with the various parrots shitting on it in the bottom of their cages.
