    Now now ladies and gents. These are hard working, normal, run if the mill people. They don’t actually mean what they say, they’re just venting their frustrations at how terrible this country has become and just want to make it great again. Can’t you see that. Surely you can understand they mean no harm and love and protect everyone and aren’t racist or sexist in the least. They’re all just mocking the BLM who are the real racists in all this. Can’t you see that?

      Yeah, the “Trump supporters aren’t these evil people” quote really stuck out to me. Even the folks who think Trump is going to bring back jobs so they turn a willfully blind eye to Trump’s racism or the moronic, sub-normal screetchings of his white pride base are willing to trade someone else’s safety for a small chance at less financial pressure. All the while screaming that “people have no personal responsibility” or “are so thin skinned these days” while crying over Starbucks cups and blaming black folks for rich white folks deciding poor white folks were expendable trash.

    ETA: I was at the park yesterday and saw some lovely folks (two brown men in kufis and a woman in a burqa) just hanging out chilling. They asked me about my fishing gear. It was awesome. All I could think was “We’re winning. America will never go back to what it was.” And it won’t.

      Everything that isn’t white, straight and Christian (and male to a point) is threatening their thinking and imagined hold on power. The main reason the GOP is imploding is that they see the future and no matter what they say, they will not change until they’ve burned to the ground and are gone.

      Sweet! :) But why does it look douchey to ask that question? I mean FB DOES suck up every little bit of data it can and it can do whatever the hell it wants with that data so it’s not like I’m exaggerating there. I get that it’s useful for organizing but people organized before it existed so I get the feeling people use it just because it makes things easy. People are giving up their privacy out of laziness.

    I respect those whose inclination is to protest bad people, but the person you’re protesting, as of right now, has zero actual power over policy. In my opinion, the better choice is to not protest. If Trump is coming to your city, get your fellow eager protesters together and phone bank for Hillary or Bernie. It can put you in contact with people who might actually be receptive to your message and your odds of getting punched by some ancient aggrieved peckerwood are almost nil.

      Another day, another person who thinks it’s ok to let Trump’s outspoken vitriol to go un-checked just because they don’t see any “real” immediate consequences happening.

      People should stand up for themselves. People need to see that Trump isn’t being mindlessly tolerated by all Americans.
