Does this mean that his kids have never voted then? Once you’re registered, you’re always registered. So, unless they wanted to change their party affiliation, doesn’t this mean his kids have not been responsible citizens ever? Good parenting, Donnie.

You need to be registered as a republican to vote in the republican primary. You don’t need to be registered with any party to vote in general elections. Presumably they are registered to vote in general but not as republicans.

I thought it was just for the primary? I’m Canadian so I have no idea how this works. (If you want to be involved in who is running for PM, you have to be a member of the party and vote at the leadership convention, which is not regularly scheduled as primaries are.) Anyway, could it be they’ve never voted in a primary but have still voted in a general? American voting rules and elections and governance confound me.

Media outlets allowing Trump to do phone interviews has probably contributed to his success more than anything else.

The fact that a “serious” candidate is willing to do phone interviews is what is unique. Most campaign people would never allow a candidate to speak to the media in such a fashion.

This infuriates me. If you don’t show up, you don’t get the airtime, you lazy entitled jerk. CBS News is the only one not allowing him on the air unless he actually shows up, in person or via satellite. You can’t read someone like that. You’re allowing him to have someone right next to him feeding him answers because you can’t see him. You’re not letting your audience see him.

I, for one, am floored by this news. Donald Jr. is the responsible one?

Donald Jr is the only one voting for Donald. He is by far the most irresponsible of his kids.

Our only hope in a Trump presidency is that by forgetting the rules he is unable to launch an nuclear strike.

for new voters, yes. for voters changing parties, it was October.

the NY primary is going to be a clusterfuck. The amount of disinformation on the deadlines has been astounding.

So that means that they’ve either A) Never registered to vote, at all; or B) Were registered as something other than a Republican.

If they were already registered as republicans, they would be able to vote in this Primary. So I really want to know: Were they unregistered, or are they Democrats?

The consensus seems to be, based on the deadlines, that they were registered, but not as Republicans (New York allows never before registered voters to register for a party primary less than 30 days in advance, but requires party-switching registrations six months in advance, presumably to deter strategic crossover voting). However, that may not necessarily mean they are registered as Democrats, because New York allows several other party registrations (e.g., the Conservative Party, which usually endorses Republican candidates: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conservat…). It might also be possible to register as “independent”/“unaffiliated”.

Are Trump’s sons making the conscious choice to look as much like self-absorbed, rich kid douchebags as possible? Because they’re nailing it.
