They’re also describing Paul Ryan as an “honorable and decent” alternative to Drumpf in the editorial. Talk about grasping at straws due to low standards.

If the mainstream press spent as much time reporting the news as they do telling us who to vote for then maybe we wouldn’t have to deal with fucks like Ted Cruz, Donald Trump, Scott Waker, Paul Ryan, and Hillary Clinton in the first place.

Yes Globe, this joke will miraculously inspire all of Trump’s supporters to change their minds and dump Donald into the East River.

It’s really an appeal to those in the GOP who don’t support him or are unsure to get their act together and make sure he isn’t the nominee, and to consider how their policies over the past 35 years have led them to the point where he could be.

This is just... odd. I don’t understand why they did it. I’m not exactly sure what kind of point it’s making. It’s not good satire at all.

Who is calling this a “joke” rather than ‘satire’? (In most tedious definitions jokes are distinguished by seeking laughter). The Boston Globe never pursued this as a joke in any formal sense. Here’s hoping that as a long-shot their efforts serve as a “wake-up call”; but mostly good for them for at least attempting to educate their readers.

Serious question: did their readers really need to be “educated” on this matter?

I don’t disagree with the content of their actions, but it looks very clickbaity to me.

I hate Trump as much as (read: more than) the next guy, but my big takeaway is that the Globe is basically saying:
