    I wonder if it would have been more effective to play the concert and use the stage to address the injustice of HB2 and implore his audience to get active and involved. I don’t actually know. But I respect that he’s standing on his principles, knowing full well it will cost him a paycheck and probably some fans.

    The “and this is why you can’t have nice things” approach might be the way to go with those childish North Carolina Republicans who supported this awful law without thinking about the larger consequences.

    I also like how he acknowledged and expressed solidarity with the many North Carolinians who oppose this law.

      I live in NC, given in one of the most liberal parts, but both of the towns here currently have rainbow flags lining the main streets...people of all political leanings for the most part think the whole thing is ridiculous regardless of their views / beliefs...we’ve got plenty of more serious problems these assholes should be focusing on i.e. poverty / education / infrastructure
