Okay, HBO. He’s given a new name when Melisandre reanimates his body, got it.

Jon Snow is dead. JON STARK LIVES.

(or Targaryan — dear God will they ever tell us the truth)

It would be pretty funny if the character was just dead and stayed dead.

Arrrg, this is starting to remind me of when the creators of Lost kept insisting that the Island wasn’t Purgatory, when it was totally fucking Purgatory. At this point I’d actually be impressed if Jon Snow was dead for realsies.

ETA: Ok the Island wasn’t technically purgatory, but all of the “flash sideways” of season 6 were in some sort of purgatory like dimension, therefore I maintain my right to be bitter with a show that ended 6 years ago.

I’m so glad I stopped watching that show in the second season.

To this one... it would be impressive if Jon stays dead! Biggest fake-out ever. But I think the overall story really would suffer for his absence.

I was already pretty upset at the show after last season, both because of the rape scene and because the season just sort of sucked, but it’s actually this bullshit that’s made me decide not to bother watching this year.

No one believes you, HBO. I think it’d go over a lot better if you’d just shrugged off the fact that the cliffhanger didn’t work and concentrated on marketing other parts of the show. Are there even other parts of the show that are worth tuning in for next season?

Nobody really knows yet. Personally, I want to see it, because I’m invested in finding out what happens with all the storylines. Yes, even fucking Dorne, as awful as it was.

But whether or not the rest will be any good, now that it’s almost totally free of the books’ outline... open question.

      Yep, I gotta know.

But seriously if good things don’t start happening for Sansa soon I might burn something down.

Jon Snow is dead. Yeah, we all know he won’t stay that way. I’m honing in on the other piece of info - Cersei sees her daughter again. They don’t mention that her daughter is dead. They’re throwing the whole episode description, making the Jon Snow part sound dire and the Cersei’s daughter part seem like a nice reunion, when it’s actually going to be the opposite - Jon Snow reanimating to have a ‘nice’ reunion with the Nights Watch (and hopefully taking out some of those traitorous bastards) and Cersei losing her shit because yet another of her children is dead.

Or I could be overthinking this tiny blurb.

Yes because as we all know science fiction and fantasy has a long rich tradition of killing off characters and never using plot device bullshit to bring them back to life. EVER!

The books are worse. I realized that no one is truly dead until you see their corpse. GRRM did it to Arya, Bran & Rickon, Brienne (twice, I believe,) the Hound, and, of course, Catelyn. Jon Snow seemed pretty dead in his last ADWD chapter but there is some wiggle room that wouldn’t even require a shadow-demon baby birthing Sorceress.
