    At this point it’s probably time to stop treating Dov Charney as if he’s the be-all to end-all of the problem.

    Don’t get me wrong: he is a disgusting, irredeemably bad piece of shit. That’s been known for something like a decade now.

    But here’s the problem: he is an irredeemably bad piece of shit who somehow finds financing, either in spite or because of his behavior.

    If Charney is pitching people on his ability to come out with product from the factories and sell it at the retail shops, then that means he really believes he’s got startup capital lined up.

    Whoever that is needs to outed ASAP, and boycotted, shunned, and not allowed back into anything like respectable society.

      That seems to be a common problem in our society, once you get to a certain level. Be a dick, shoot someone, go to rehab, cry for a minute, and then someone comes along to refinance your idea to make jelly shoes happen, again.

      Capitalism is fundamentally amoral. I’m sure that somewhere in his noggin, next to memories of all the porn he has produced/consumed, that Dov Charney knows how to set up production lines and retail stores. And I’m sure that someone will gladly lend him money to put that knowledge to use, with the expectation of getting that money back plus a dividend. And while Dov Charney is a risky bet, I am pretty sure that someone has calculated how risky and has figured out what kind of premium to charge Dov Charney for providing him capital.

      And now since my kneejerk hatred of all things Dov Charney has subsided —replaced by a calmer, more reflective form of hatred for all things Dov Charney— let me introduce you to the asshole who thinks he’s figured out a way to make money with Dov Charney:
