Cats give signals to leave them alone. I know my cats’ signs. I’m wondering if she didn’t read the signs the cat was giving to her.

Side note, I have random scratches on my arms I have no idea where the came from.

If a cat is hurt or scared, whether or not you know it, they’re going to act differently, and lash out when they normally wouldn’t. Cats can have internal or hidden injuries that you don’t notice just by looking at them. Or you could be fully aware they’re hurt, but you have to handle them in order to get them to the vet.

Obviously I have no idea what was going on with Miley and that cat, but sometimes you can really know your cat and still get fucked up.

My cat punched me in the eye once. Without claws. So for like a month, I had 1/3 of a normal-sized black eye going on, and had to tell everyone I was punched by a cat.

I think she just enjoys humiliating me.

Not to blame the victim, but GIRL. WHAT DID YOU DO?

She existed at a time when the cat desired to be a ball of rage incarnate.

    You know, a Tuesday.

I can only imagine how hairy the Kardashians would be without laser treatments. Kim’s mustache would be thicker than her husband’s.

That arm slash is pretty severe; she had to be treating that cat in a way it seriously didn’t want to be treated.

This sort of thing can happen if you try to give an adult cat a bath, when it’s never had one before.

Cats won’t do something like this without a damn good reason. It doesn’t happen to people who know cats well, and respect their self-determination.

Bathtime kitty could definitely cause those injuries. We had to give our Maine Coon kitty baths when she got too fat to clean herself and her butt fur got matted. It took 2 of us to hold her down, and she got some good swipes in every time. After awhile we gave up and started taking her to the groomer. I don’t think they really appreciated our business.

Well, someone did something. But not necessarily Miley. Once, when I was holding my cat (who was blissfully purring at the time), my mom’s asshole boyfriend decided to scare the shit out of the cat. She left a similar scratch on my arm that left a scar for months.

And my mom wondered why I refused to go to their wedding (well, it wasn’t just that, but let’s just say that it wasn’t an isolated incident).

I’m halfway to being Cousin Itt, so I’m always puzzled by women who say they’re hairy. Not by my standards.

I used to be hairy like that too (though fortunately most of it was blonde), but now that I’m in my late forties it’s almost like returning to prepubescence. Barely any pubes or armpit hairs, legs only need shaving once in a while... this is probably due to my thyroid problems, but whatever, it’s nice. I consider it a bonus.

Except for that DAMNED CHIN HAIR.

I just realized, now that I have tattoos within clawing range I’m going to have to actually care where my cats slash me. Would it really mess it up badly though? Off to google.....

Good question. I don’t know! I guess if it’s bad enough to leave a scar, sure, but otherwise... maybe?

Let us know what you find out, would you? I don’t even have any tattoos but I’m suddenly curious about this too.

Well turns out if it’s a cat scratch it’s probably ok. Unless the artist didn’t inject the ink in very deep in which case it might get marred but sounds like you’d have to take skin off to make a difference.

Something about seeing that long scratch so close to her tattoo made me grab my chair. Not the art kitty!

This should be in every Cat Owner’s Manual.

Love the music choices! This is a real little joy, right here.

This little girl was so mad she was huffing and puffing. So I huffed and puffed back, because obviously, right?

No. Never huff and puff at a cat. Especially when they’re in scratching distance of your face. She made me bleed...

Or touch a cat’s stomach. Might as well reach into a beehive.

I scratch kitty’s head and along the chin and her favorite spot by her tail. But the stomach? She goes all Edward Scissorhands and will fuck.you.up.

She either grabbed the cat when the cat didn’t want to be grabbed OR she got in the middle of a cat fight to separate them. I used to have a long scar on my forearm, similar to what she has, when I got between Queen Cachita I and Ozzypan The Mighty who were in an all out fight that was also very weird - she was on the table and he was on the chair. Queenie hooked a claw and slid it down. Fun times. #respectthekitty #theclawismighty

Not Salem, actually, but Bertrum Thumbcat. He’s a kitty from a British ad, who was found to have thumbs.
