I wish this show would get cancelled, and be replaced with a good show.

The “epic love story” between the blonde dragon lady in the horrible wig and Jason Momoa - do fans just ignore the fact that their relationship began when he raped her, or what? How does that work? And the writing is so horrible.

Since that didn’t happen in the book (I’ve never read it I have just heard about it) I do kinda pretend it didn’t happen. Same with Jaime and Cersei. Both rapes just ruined the consistency in the character development and made no sense at all, so I tune it out for my own viewing.

I’ll be honest and say I mostly watch because Peter Dinklage is a fucking national treasure.

No need to drag Ann Coulter into this.

Bobby, we don’t always agree, but I am with you 1000% on this one.

More compelling story, less rape/gratuitious violence/characters acting like huge dumbasses in order to futher a deeply stupid “plot”. I’m counting on you, season 6!

Fine with the less rape and plot-driven huge dumbasses, but gratuitous violence is sort of in the DNA.

It’s like wanting less apple in your apple pie.

Agreed. The books are at their most compelling when the story culminates in a fit of horrific violence, because that is what drives the crazy twists of plot throughout the series.

I didn’t watch past S1. I thought she didn’t really do nudity after that. Howard Stern was discussing this story and one of his team said in the 2nd book she wore a gown that exposed one breast completely and that didn’t happen in S2.

Sounds like she wants to be Queen of the Peen.

She does nudity in Season 3, but declared afterword that was the last. Then we got a nice butt and pelvic valley shot of her lover the following season.

People have been telling me shows like The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones have been largely going downhill for the past few seasons, and I just don’t see it. I mean, I recognize the bad parts of each show (why can you people not get Sansa’s story right oh my gosh) but I still think the positives of each season have outweighed the negatives. Large cliffhangers and Sand Snakes aside, I still dig TWD and GoT a lot.

I think the most recent season of both shows suffer from a similar ‘lazy writing’ issue, where instead of writing good story, as they’ve done in the past, they started writing characters inconsistently because they couldn’t say, be bothered to write a good reason why Daryl’s legendary woodsman skills wouldn’t have picked up the Saviors any of zillion times they captured him (or why he would have gone charging after them by himself). Or why Jaime and Bronn, two reasonably intelligent humans, would have thought a great plan would be to try and abduct Myrcella in broad daylight in the palace gardens. GoT made some questionable storyline decisions, many of which may make sense in hindsight, but in order to move them forward, they started writing characters who suddenly acted nothing at all like themselves. For me, that’s what started the decline, particularly considering how thoughtful they’d been in the past about characterization.

TWD is my favorite show, however...for me, the season finale was a huge let down.

We already had the “did Glenn die or didn’t he” cliffhanger, and now the whole “Omg who died” cliffhanger.

      I already lived through this:

I’d prefer it if co-creators David Benioff and D. B. Weiss would consider giving me 10-hour seasons of television that contain more than 2.5 hours of compelling content. Because, as someone who has no interest in reading the books, I view every season of the show as three-ish great episodes hidden among seven frustratingly dull ones.

Ugh. so real, everytime I try to watch game of thrones i have two enduring thoughts. Why does nothing ever happen and where are all the Black people?

    ETA:

I know they have two light skin somewhat racially ambiguous characters. Thank you.

I love fantasy, but I hate how every story people can believe in dragons before they believe in:

-a female swordsperson who can kick a man’s ass.

-a society that IS NOT misogynist! I want to read something entertaining. Why is it only white guys get to read something where they are both the main characters, and the entire world makes it easier for them to exist? Freakin’ dragons, but we can’t even imagine a world with equality?!

-people of color existing. Or they are such stereotypes. You know those “Asians” and their “ninjas.”

Sorry, Emilia, but my heart belongs to Spartacus. This chubby queer-o has all the dick and ass and what else MAN he’ll ever need from that show.

I watch for the badass female characters (Sansa, Daeny, Brienne, and Margaery) and for Tyrion. Everything in between is just kind of there.

Is it really though? Yes a woman’s breasts are up top and not on bottom, but they’re still parts she could be arrested for showing in public. Dick and sack are the only similarly taboo points on the male body.
