      Let’s do a little translation. bell hooks gives what I think is the most succinct, accurate, straightforward definitions of feminism:

      feminism is a movement to end sexism, sexist exploitation, and oppression

      So we could reword that statement to say:

      “Anyone who shares a dissenting opinion about [ending sexism] is absolutely slaughtered in the media, on the web, at work, at home, and in life.”

      Or:

      “Anyone who [thinks that we shouldn’t end sexism] is absolutely slaughtered in the media, on the web, at work, at home, and in life.”

      And since we all understand that “slaughtered” is mostly hyperbole, and we agree on all sides that any actual threats of violence—and even harassment—are unacceptable, then what we’re really left with is someone bellyaching about getting criticized for believing that women deserve to be treated as an inferior class. SORRY NOT SORRY, DUDE.

    I like how he introduces the idea of feminism as a cancer to Western civilization, and the very first example he provides is a couple sports commentators making goofy remarks about a moustache. (Also, was the player Steven Adams? I bet it was.)

    This is a trend with MRA’s, the examples they use to back up their wackadoo ideas are always embarrassingly weak and petty.

    And can I imagine male commentators saying similar things? Can I imagine a male sports commentator saying the women of an entire city are all fat and disgusting? I sure can, since Charles Barkley has done it over and over.

      That part made me uncomfortable as well. Can we be better than Gamergate, people? Please? We can make fun of this guy for his stupid remarks, we can decide not to buy albums or go to shows. Sending hateful messages does nothing to change this dude’s opinion, in fact it’s proving his belief that no one is allowed to criticize anything related to feminism.
