How about an article about how hawkish and depraved Hillary’s speech to AIPAC was? She said she would do everything in her power to stop BDS. A second President Clinton would make it illegal to boycott goods from another country. How fucked up is that? Then she went on to promise Israel billions and billions of dollars for war. She showed her hand as a tool of Israeli lobby and the military/security industrial complex. She also perpetuates the red herring that criticism of Israel is inherently anti-semetic. Hillary isn’t Thatcher, she’s Netanyahu. She has had a major hand in destroying Libya, Syria and Iraq and she will do nothing to put an end to Israeli’s brutal and racist occupation of the Palestinian people.

I’ve noticed Gabe Sherman never once uncovers any dirt about the centrists (i.e. Democrats, MSNBC, etc.), so I can’t really trust that he’s not some party hack. No wonder he’s colleagues with Jonathan Chait.

There’s nothing more despicable than politicians sucking up and groveling before Aipac and Israel.

There are many things I can add to this, but discretion is the better part of valor and all that. Suffice it to say: theocracy, or any shade of it (this goes for Zionism, Ireland from the Treaty to the Good Friday Agreement—and that’s both the Republic AND the North, natch, Apartheid South Africa and the influence of the Dutch Reformed Church, the Middle East’s relationship with Islam, what’s going down in India right now, and of course Utah) is bad, and should be fought against with pluralism.

Gee, so the headline is that right-wing hack acts like a right-wing hack? What, were there no job openings at Fox that day?

The irony of it, substantively speaking, is that the speech has Trump endorsing unyielding fealty to Israel and assuming the same from them, when neither is either a conventional model of international relations or for that matter, how Trump sees the world.

He makes it abundantly clear that he sees it all as entirely transactional, which is only different from conventional realpolitik in the sense that he lives in such a short time horizon that he’s incapable of evaluating long-term costs and benefits. So for him to tout uncritical loyalty is more than hypocritical, it’s absolutely insane.

Gabriel Sherman’s excellent piece on the Trump campaign contains another bit of media intrigue: The role of Trump’s grandson-in-law, New York Observer owner Jared Kushner

Son-in-law. Let’s not make the fucked up sexual dynamics of this family any weirder.

Jared Kushner is Trump’s SON-in-law, not grandson-in-law. He's married to Donald's daughter Ivanka and the father of three of his grandkids.
