My Catholic gave me Condoms even though they’re kinda unnecessary for lesbians.

(Yes, I know- they’re necessary for sex toys)

That is wonderful to hear. My catholic school told me that condoms wouldn't prevent the spread of HIV.

If 16 out of every 100 condoms you use breaks, you’re doing it wrong.

I’ll let you know if I ever end up using 100 condoms.

My failure rate was actually a lot higher until I figured out you’re supposed to put it on over both feet at once. Makes it so much easier to get it up the legs. Mind you, you still need those extra-max sized ones. Otherwise they’ll tear before you even get it past the knees.

    Holy shit.

I wish this were publicized away from Jezebel and similar places, because this is truly what these motherfuckers are about, and men should be scared of it too. Not just women.

I’m Catholic enough (lapsed) to have been aware of Catholics for choice, but those ads are wild, especially the one with two men. Wow.

Uh...the one with the two guys is pro-condom.

      Am I missing something?

Yes, I understood they’re pro-condom. The problem I was referring to was the fact that there’s a movement to present birth control and condoms as evil and faulty.

Eta: Not just that but that the organization embraces being observant while acknowledging that gays are welcome to worship too.

    Fact: Condoms prevent disease.

Fact: your religious freedom ends at the tip of your nose.

Question: which conservative Think Tank is the author of the discriminatory LGBTQ legislation that these bigots love to pass at the expense of common sense? Is it the Family Research Council? The wording seem too similar and the timing too suspect to make one believe that each of these State’s legislature did all the legwork themselves.

Focus On The Family, FRC’s parent organization, whose main goal is abstinence only sex “education” and making the lives of the gay community miserable.

Perhaps it’s the 90s version of an abortionplex? It’s certainly just as factual.

An abortionplex sounds like it would have great movie theater food. An abortion mill sounds a little more rustic and artisanal though so I think it might do better with millennials.

I posted that article once and lost 14 facebook friends in one day. It was a lovely house cleaning.

Fun fact, Judie Brown once famously said “Abortion is never necessary to save a mother’s life”.

She doesn’t give a fuck about life.

Sadly there are a number of folks who don’t get that about pregnancy, even women who have gone through pregnancy and should know all the changes it entails. I’ve never been pregnant myself (and probably never will be), but I have this thing that many right-wingers lack and that is empathy.

And it’s that empathy that keeps me from wishing that the people who claim abortion is never necessary to save a woman’s life have a life-threatening pregnancy or a relative with a life-threatening pregnancy. It doesn’t stop me from hoping someone whose life was endangered by pregnancy gets to punch someone like her in the face.

This is like a marketing class presentation on good ads and bad ads. No wonder ALL wasn’t successful, their campaign looked like it was done by someone’s weird aunt for the local free newspaper.

Judie Brown is a despicable human being. Worse than Father Frank Pavone. Because at least he had some ecclesiastical authority over him. Authority which he accepted to the point of stepping away from his organization for the calumny and detraction of others, aka, “Priests for Life” after he said one too many libelous things about Michael Schiavo and a few others.

She doesn’t even respect the USCCB, calling them out for being “liberal” and “apostates” on multiple occasions. She is Catholic in name only, but from the extreme right instead of the left version which she continuously derides publicly.

(former Catholic here - I formally defected from the Church - no half measures for me)

For people wanting to know more about the fight for contraceptive rights within the Catholic Church, this is a great read:
