the other day i was in a store and that song came on and as i was looking around - singing along barely at the bottom of my voice, as one is wont to do anytime one hears bohemian rhapsody - i realized that every other person in the store and the people who worked there were also lowkey singing along too

      it was magical

Adrastra predicts "Low Key" title for Taylor's new albumJE Reich

I don’t know if it matters or not, but somehow I doubt this is something that happened intentionally...literally none of those people strike me as people who would have a Cirque du Soleil album.

Timberlake isn’t the only one named in the suit: song co-writers and collaborators Timbaland, J-Roc and James Fauntleroy, as well as WB Music Corp and Sony Entertainment, are also listed as defendants.

James Fauntleroy might though. Sorry. I don’t know who that is. The name Fauntleroy just makes me giggle.

I’m not accusing anyone of anything nor do I care if anyone does drugs. But what is up with JT’s eyes in that photo? I’ve also seen eyes like on Jack Black. Are those post-pot eyes or something?

Gawker Media seems to prefer “unattractive” celebrity photos for their articles. And JT is unattractive in that photo fo sho.

Look in the mirror ten years from now and you will see the same thing. It’s the aging process. It has this way of making your eyes look weird. By weird I mean old.

Long time reader, first time commenter. Just wanted to say that you have my enduring love for using “yinz” in a post. I have no idea if you’re from Western Pennsylvania, but you made my yinzer heart flutter.

Holy shit, you’re right. I’m also from Western PA, and I didn’t even register the yinz. Assuming from your name you’re from Armstrong County. I’m from Beaver County. Western PA represent!

I could have sworn Annie Lennox of Eurythmics (Missionary Man video) was photographed undergoing an eye examination. But after spending 20 minutes searching for these images, now I’m not so sure...

I don’t care enough to compare the songs, but I have to say that we’ve reached the point where a lot of songs now are going to going to be compared to a lot of the songs that have already been written. Everyone is building upon every song that has been written before them.

I’m not defending this song against any others, but at what point do we say that that, yeah, you took a hook of what I’ve written before, and made a bit different to make it your own, so let’s just enjoy the music, and chill? Obviously, the original artist should get a cut if it’s really, really close to what they’ve done before, but one could also make an argument that no new music has been produced in the last 20 (or more) years. That doesn’t mean that everyone should sue everyone.

And furthermore, I think that the propensity to sue actually chills artistic endeavors. So I would rather hear new music first and foremost, rather than artists stop making music because they think that they will be sued in the future for building upon the music that came before them.

Agree. I write music and lyrics and a melody generally just authentically pops in my head and I build from there. I have had people say that reminds me of........ But generally I don't know the song that they reference. Now subconsciously am I building a melody that i was heard when I was 5? Who knows. And with pop it would get even easier to step on someone else's beat. I'm not down with the stealing of intellectual property but I'm not sure this is what actually happens.
