              I’m pretty sure celebs fake phone calls in public like this to A) look important and B) politely avoid interruptions by bystanders.

              I once saw Meg Ryan doing this while standing ~3 feet behind her in the checkout line at Dean & Deluca. She wasn’t actually talking to anybody.
