    Why is this newsworthy?

If I was worth in excess of $100 million and I wanted Bernie Sanders to win, I would also try and get my rich ass friends to donate.

Or is this the tabloid part kicking in again?

Gawker is still all about the celebs, but they really buried the lede, which is how screwed up campaign finance is to allow a plutocratic scam like The Hillary Victory Fund (“...but it’s not really about Hillary, but yet it is!”).

Well, at least the couple who pony up will have a shot at Clinton actually listening to what they have to say. More than most of her voters have ever gotten.

You can’t really antagonize Hillary for not listening to her voters since one of the biggest criticisms levied at her is how she keeps changing her views depending on what the voters want (and I don’t understand why that isn’t how a politician should act).

“He’s out there, he fights from the heart. This is who Bernie is. And he has put the right issues on the table both for the Democratic party and the country. I’m still cheering Bernie on”

Warren’s playing it smart on the endorsement, but we all know where she stands. She’s the first female President that this country needs right now, but not the one it deserves.

And that she highlights that he’s leading the conversation on the right issues I think is really meaningful and the best anyone can hope for.

To be fair, $353,000 is not enough but if they pay me $400,000 I might consider sitting at her table.

The dose response curve should be adopted to maximize effect. Or are you suggesting that millionaires should be begged for the same amount of sadly essential political funds as Ms Median Merika? It would be a much much happier republic if money wasn’t involved to this degree in politics; but the game board is already set and the pieces (moved by money) are already in motion. (i know we wouldn’t rather Trump just won off of stored charge - now would we?)

How about this radical notion:THE AMOUNT OF MONEY YOU HAVE SHOULD HAVE NO INFLUENCE ON YOUR POLITICAL POWER.

      One person. One vote.

      Fuck.

The headline could be “Candidate raises funds.”

I understand criticizing Hilary for taking boatloads of money from shady corporate clients, but this is just smart business to personally accrue money for her campaign. How else would you have her raise money?

Your question is based on a flawed premise. The problem is that candidates and outside parties that are so inside that their names have the candidates’ names in them are even allowed to raise this much money for their campaigns in the first place.

Yes, and the DNC, the state parties, one candidate only, to me that’s strange but, I literally could be wrong.

They’d better be prepared to pay me $353,000 if they expect me to watch “Batman and Robin”

One of two films I’ve walked out on in the theatre. The other was the 1998 version of “Godzilla”. I made it almost 45 minutes with that one though. I was gone from B&R by the end of that first stupid scene where they’re surfing at 50,000 feet on pieces of debris from the rocket they were on that had just exploded.

I can understand the shadiness of a mega fund like this but I’m honestly curious, is it possible to win modern elections without super PACS and loopholes? We all know the republicans will do this shit, is the high ground worth potentially losing the election?

I have a uterus. It’s not worth losing the election and the supreme court for a generation. Let’s overturn Citizens United, change campaign finance law, and have a level playing field. I will not forfeit to Donald Trump.

Unfortunately this is the kind of politics that doesn’t involve you and me, the (presumably) average citizen this election is supposedly about.
