“Corsets do not cause you to permanently lose fat in the midsection: they cause a re-distribution of the fat and organs in the trunk.”

um...I kinda like my current organ distribution. That can’t be good for you.

It isn’t. This is what I kept trying to tell my mom who wanted me to wear one after having my second baby. It won’t do anything, it just rearranges the fat, it doesn’t make it disappear. If you haven’t lost the weight, it will not work for you.

This should not be confused with my lawsuit over the fact that I spent almost a year training my waist and it still pees on the floor and bites the mailman.

Maybe you need to try a shock corset. Don't worry, they don't actually hurt your waist just nudge it towards behaving better.

Corseting can be dangerous. But it can helpful in some situations. It helped a friend lose a significant amount of weight (along with a supervised eating and exercise plan), they’re also helpful for back pain and some people with sensory issues find the constriction comforting. But waist training and corseting have different goals.

Anyone hawking any product to help with “toxins” should be Gibbs smacked. Your body filters toxins just fine. And if it doesn’t, you’ll need more help than any water/food/supplement or garment can give you. That’s why we have doctors.

it was the exercise and diet that helped your friend lose weight. not the corset.

Oh did you fall for that “I love myself” post from last week? jk

“I love myself so much I’ve spent hundreds of thousands on plastic surgery, endorse diet pills and wear elastic bands to look thinner, I wear more make up than 100 women combined and I had my assistant write a bullshit essay about being empowered and not letting haters tell me they think I’m full of shit”.

See, the waist trainer draws out those imperfections so she can take off the trainer and admire them from a distance.

Unpopular opinion: I like ‘em. I used a waist-trainer for about 6 months when I was having running-related lower back pain, and it definitely helped my posture and took some of the pressure off of my lower back. I carry extra weight up front in my tummy which strained my lower back. Once I lost a bit more weight, the pain went away and I stopped using it, but I def feel myself slacking off with sitting up straight. Those corsets force that on you if you want to breathe.

I have a friend that used corseting for that reason - for support, but she wasn’t waist training in the true sense. ETA: her corsets were custom made for her, too.

I mean, I’m glad it helped you but a little work on strengthening your spinal erectors would have done so in a all-round better way.

That lady is a lying liar and I always get so sad when women are duped into these things. The Kardashians have a very hourglass body shape so this product will look great on them by way of sinching what like an inch? 3 inches max off their frame? Meanwhile women who are not built this way are left wondering why their bodies aren't cooperating and honestly it's heartbreaking.

I am naturally small waisted and my kardashian obsessed SIL is not. She has kind of a 2004 Lohan shape where her boobs are gigantic but the rest of her is long and relatively shapeless.

She has always been considered a gorgeous woman and has in fact made snide comments over the years about my general large bottomedness, but then one day out of nowhere she started asking me about waist training and it was just the most surreal moment. This gorgeous woman all but accused me of secretly corseting myself to get my figure and I am just here thinking I love my body shape, but it comes with thick thighs and a big ass which has been actively unfashionable for most of my adult life up until about a year ago.

I keep trying to explain to her that my shape is genetic and comes with its own problems, but she is still wearing these useless and expensive elastic tubes hoping it will make her different.

      it is positively bewildering.

Their bodies aren’t cooperating because they aren’t also augmenting their boobs/asses to the right ratio via their friendly neighborhood plastic surgeon.

Do they no longer teach science in schools? How can otherwise seemingly functional adults buy into this garbage? Fools wasting their money on waist trainers get what they deserve...empty wallets and the same amount of abdominal fat they started with.

It’s the same idiots that buy diet pills and try extreme diets that they can only tolerate for 2 days, who are cousins of the idiots that believe vaccines are poison and are constantly looking for the next big thing to remove all their toxins.
