Fun fact: Grace appears to be defending herself in the comments on the PBS piece:

I mean, no idea if it’s just someone posing as her, but it appears to be actually her. So apparently the Odin’s Cross is just her love of Norse mythology and the 88 is totally unrelated to Hitler.

    Got it. Sounds “plausible.”

I like how she never explains the 88 because she hasn’t come up with a good fake explanation yet.

I believe Dale Earnhardt Jr. drives the 88 car. She is probably just a big fan of his.

A tattoo artist friend once had an 18yo punk ass walk into her studio and ask to get “88" inked on his neck. She told him GTFOADCB.

The celtic cross being used by these racist fuckwads makes me want to vomit.

The GOP’s Southern Strategy is finally unravelling to reveal the darkness within. They’ve been pandering to these racists for 45 years to get them to vote for their corporatist agenda catered to the rich, but the GOP establishment has finally lost control of the asylum. They created this monster, plain and simple.

What is going on is that low class white Americans finally have a presidential candidate that is pandering directly to them, instead of pretending they don’t exist. In many ways this is just the USA playing catch up with Europe, where political groups like this have existed for decades.

Here’s the thing. This doesn’t matter to his constituents. At best, voters for Trump have some racial or religious resentment, so things like “white pride” don’t really offend them too much, it’s just an example of another disenfranchised portion of the American population that has nothing to do with them, but sees resonance in Trump’s message.

At worst, they’re actually racists who maybe try to hide it under some kind of belief that we’re undergoing some kind of war on the white race and compare it to the genocide of Nazi Germany, but backwards, and actually nothing like Nazi Germany at all.

That’s true, but it matters to moderate Republicans and moderate non-affiliated voters who don’t want to be associated with this crap. I predict Trump as the nominee will depress Republican turnout in key swing states.

It absolutely doesn’t matter to anyone who would vote for him. At this point I’m pretty sure all the scary Trump coverage is a get out the vote effort encouraging the many non white supremacists in the US to get off of their asses and vote in the general, since it now looks like a klan-sympathizer is going to be genuinely running for president.

The conversation I had with the voices in my head while reading this story were interesting:

Above, you see Grace phone banking for Donald Trump, the Celtic Cross tattoo on her right hand.

Me: “Well, that doesn’t say as much as you think. Sure it’s associated with white supremacy but it’s also an old celtic symbol and it’s not the first time someone has gotten a tattoo without fully understanding the symbolism behind it.”

    Then I read:

In another shot, we see Grace’s left hand, which bears the number 88:

Me: “Oh shit. Yeah, she understood the symbolism. Maybe not the old symbolism but the modern symbolism for sure.”

    So a little background here:

“88 is a white supremacist numerical code for “Heil Hitler.”

Because H is the 8th letter of the Alphabet. This seems abit of a weird way to write it, doesn’t it? It started with Neo-nazis in Germany. See, in Germany the penalties for graffiti vandalism are already quite harsh, but get caught doing nazi graffiti and it’s actual hard prison time. They don’t fuck around with it. So the Neo-nazis there started taking to spray painting “88" to create some ambiguity if they got caught.

I mean an H and an 8 are as similar as you’re going to get if you’re a neo-nazi and looking for a way. I thought 88 was the new “SS” (schutz staffel), but it’s hard to keep up. All I know is Dale Jr. hasn’t changed his number.

Her facebook picture, right now, which was put up in 2011 (it appears she started an account in 2011, forgot about it and started another which is private now). Seems unlikely the Nazi tattoos are an accident when she’s running around with flag boy there.

...and of course she’s from Syracuse, NY. I really want to believe all the racists come from the south, but I grew up not that far from her and saw tons of this shit there too.

She’s facebook friends with a black guy, which made me wonder all sorts of things. Is he actually friends with her in real life? Why would he want his other friends to see that he’s friends with her?

      I’m over thinking this.

Is there an argument to be made with steadfast GOPers, who because they claim to be “GOP” so they have no choice but to vote for their candidate no matter who it is, that they are now literally claiming to align themselves with White Power organizations?

I kinda feel like theres a slightly similar pressure on the left. Ok so Hillary is gonna be the nominee.. so we MUST vote for her! Ugh.

I so wish there was a strong, genuine 3rd (read: progressive) party option.

There’s certainly a good argument there. But there’s also solid evidence of climate change and that trickle down doesn’t work, and neither of those good arguments has done shit.

The positive things to post about Trump outweigh the negative, and the blatant smear campaign on Trump is exactly why he’s so popular. He’s not even remotely a ‘bigot’; the issues he brings up are purely economic (if you actually do the research and not regurgitate the debunked Anti Trump rhetoric).

I’m not sure that he understands that using bankruptcies as a business strategy as a private citizen works, he really can’t do that with the United States Government.
