    Chris Christie has always been a political sewer rat, from his first campaign for office, through the US Attorney job he got because his brother made a big contribution to GWB (and somehow magically escaped prosecution when others went to prison) through this shameful display. But he used to at least have a veneer of respectability and plausible deniability. And now, in a year when he was supposed to be the “reasonable” alternative to the nuts, he has thrown in whole hog with the pigs and rolling around in that mud feels good at first, but it gets uncomfortable after a while.

      But I too marvel at how thoroughly he’s fucked himself. He could’ve slunk away from his presidential campaign with his dignity intact and the ability to salvage his political career. Now he’ll be lucky if he manages to escape New Jersey alive.

      Yes, it is very odd. Why? I know he is enjoined from running for Governor of New Jersey again, but aren’t there a bunch of good-paying jobs he could get after this? The only thing I can think is that he’s got four children, and he needs to pay a lot of college bills in the next 10 years. Do you supposed Trump promised him money?
